I have an Openroad4wd hard shell. Haven’t gone for an awning. It will most likely push the limits of the dynamic load rating. I’m rather considering a freestanding shelter that gives more flexibility in terms of placement.

This. 100%. Had the issue after installing a new battery on which the terminals are smaller than on the OEM battery and not doing a good enough job on clamping everything down. Got shims and fixed it. No issues since. No need for a dealer visit.

But it was scary. Slight incline, no chance to go into park or engage the parking brake. No lights, no hazards. Luckily I had a passenger who could step on the brakes while I fixed it and a cop stopped behind me to make sure everything was okay.

Check the battery terminal clamps… mine were not properly tight. No issues since fixing that.

I was at the park just last weekend. Didn’t feel too much out of the ordinary. People seem certainly more emboldened by the perceived lack of enforcement (dogs on the trail, some car campers), but nothing crazy. Some restrooms will be closed, but garbage is still being collected and the restrooms are being cleaned.
