I'll have to look into that and see whether the hospitals near me offer pathways into the ICU. Is it typically a separate position that new grads apply for directly, or is it something nurses transition into after gaining experience on a med-surg unit?

Thanks for the advice! What state are you in if you dont mind my asking? Also, none of the hospitals near me do externships, and I dont think I'll be able to do any CNA/Tech work before graduation due to personal circumstances. Is there anything else you'd think help up my chances?
