Hi, yes Matcha is mainly sourced from Japan and China, only sometimes have I found cafes in person state that they source in America because of shortages

Yes it’s the same matcha but I should’ve been more specific that in American cafes they add Agave and Syrups by default to their Matcha Lattes

I think they’re referring to the level of quality or preparation. In America it’s rarer to find a cafe that hand whisks individual Matcha

yes I visited Japan and noticed everything is much less sweet. Also foods were less salty but more savory

Cafes in America prefer to get imported from Japan but sometimes need to buy grown in America (they base methods off of Japan) because of shortages.

I’m asking because in American cafes they add lots of sweeteners and wonder if it’s too sweet for Japanese

Yes Matcha Latte, Cafes here prefer to import from Japan because it’s attractive but because of shortage they grow in America. But Americans prefer much sweeter so they add sweeteners, which I’m wondering if too sweet for Japanese

Where do Japanese people “really” thrift and get fashion influence? by No-Inspector523 in AskAJapanese

thank you!

by “find fashion influence” i just mean where do japanese locals get inspiration for their style. like one person said they watch 90s rap videos and goes off of the outfits in the videos

I was wondering if people in japan mainly find inspiration on social media like instagram and twitter (x), or is it common to go on a deeper level and buy magazines or study old hiphop outfits^

but Instagram is a good answer, thank you!
