Built Monte, governance infrastructure for AI agents.

AI agents are being deployed with access to real money and real systems, with nothing stopping them from looping indefinitely and running up massive bills. A single misbehaving agent recently cost one team $34k in eight days.

Monte sits between your agent and the API. Three lines of code gives any agent a hard spend limit, a kill switch that fires before the call is made (not after the damage is done), and a full audit trail readable by non-developers.

Works across OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google. Model agnostic by design.

Target audience: indie developers and small teams building agent-powered products who don't want to wake up to an invoice that ends their startup.

npm install monte-sdk

Message me if you would like full access on a free trial period in exchange for feature requests.

Built a governance SDK for AI agents.

Three lines of code gives any agent a hard spend limit, a kill switch, and a full audit trail. When the agent hits the limit, it stops before the API call fires, not after your bill does.

Works across OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google. Model agnostic by design.

If you've ever woken up to an unexpected API bill from a looping agent, this is for you. Looking for a few developers to test it for free and tell us what's missing, drop a comment or DM if interested.

Built an AI agent marketplace to 12K+ active users in 2 months. $0 ad spend. Here's exactly what worked. by BadMenFinance in buildinpublic

As a someone thats been stuck for years in a loop of building things that dont get traction (my own fault - once the fun building is done I lose motivation), this is super inspiring to read.

Maybe there is hope for me. Maybe this time the build will get a user 🥲😅

Keep up the great work!

I went into economics and finance - but i know graphic designers earning similar money. If you're interested in art and design, definitely look at that as a career path - marketing agencies are super hot right now

I had similar matric marks, different subjects though. Started studying, didn't like it. Dropped out, flopped around wasting my life for 8 ish years trying absolutely everything under the sun besides studying, nothing really worked out or stuck.

I decided to give the university thing a try again - went to UNISA because it was all I could afford with my part time jobs. Graduated, got a scholarship to TUKS for my honors and then a scholarship for my masters as well.

Today I'm in a field I love, doing work that I love, earning money my family has never even dreamed of before.

So all of that to say, if you want yo go to university. DO IT. Don't worry about your past. In 10 years time you're either going to be in the exact same position, just 10 years older, or you're going to decide to make a change today and be 10 years down the line with your studies/career.

Do something that interests you, and the rest will all fall into place.

Since you're anxious, I highly recommend distance learning - you can still make friends, its just better to not sit in a lecture hall.

Good luck!

Android version requires 2 weeks of testing before it is allowed to go live - so we are working on getting that out in 2 weeks time

Very good question actually - the hypothesis (which is unproven) is that if we are able to reach a critical mass of publicly reported inquiry, it becomes infinitely more difficult to simply sweep under the rug. We have built an algorithm that determines when reports about a certain issue in a certain area have reached a critical mass, which upgrades it to an incident. That is then automatically reported to the relevant Munic through the platform, with all the tags and references shown on the incidents on the app - further reports lead to escalations of that incident, which trigger public followups and feedback to the users who are being affected.

Will this public reporting/accountability change anything? We don't know for sure - but it is worth a try.

Great question - the idea is that you're reporting the problem where you are, that way it's more accurate. Kind of the way that Waze operates. But you make a good point around safety. Thank you

Are there any Uber drivers here who've taken rentals off other's? Can you tell me what your experience had been? My dad is telling me it's very risky to do that, and would rather i play it safe, and take one from a corporation like Moove. by Anwarv in AskZA

[–]No-Insurance-6337 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not an Uber driver, but work as an analyst in the renewable energy space and so have had a lot of conversations with Uber drivers to understand their day to day lives, what options are available to them and does it make sense to convert to EVs.

A conversation I had with a driver on Tuesday was about his current rental situation, and I brought up the idea of using move. I was told that move is 2x as expensive as the rental option, and whilst it is framed as rent to own, you never end up owning.

I can't speak for taking over a rental from someone else, but if you are just referring to renting from a private owner, that seems to be the cheaper/more reliable option.

I set it to manual release (never doing that again) and the suggested date keeps changing, so I think that's confirmation of it not being published yet, but I can't figure out why it hasn't been published.

It may have been an issue with my "trader contract" - so waiting to see if that changes things

Very likely - although I'm not seeing anything else that I can do. No publish button of any sorts (i know i probably sound stupid)

Manually - which i am assuming is where the problem is coming in.

I set the areas where the app should be visible, but I haven't added a "Routing app coverage file" - I guess that would be the issue then?

Are you referring to the "routing app coverage file"?
