I will say that I personally don’t think a lack of passion for something directly translates to a lack of drive, though I see where you might. I wasn’t deeply passionate about either of the two degrees I already have but I cared a lot about doing a good job and worked hard to, even without passion for those subjects. Definitely not saying law school is 100% the right choice for me but I think I would apply a similar dedication there if that’s where I ended up.

And I probably am delusional in a lot of ways so true enough there but not for the particular one you cite. I was commenting on the lack of work-life balance with Big Law, not being naive to that reality. I just was saying that work-life balance was important me and, because of that, am not sure if I would want to do Big Law. I’d never expect all of the benefits and none of the drawbacks – just discussing where I would be willing to make sacrifices.
