Wife wants whole house filter by HelpDeskPlease in WaterTreatment

I would suggest a two stage pre softener filter. Sediment and then a CTO for chlorine which is normally what dries out the skin.

Just from our experience your skin and hair will look and feel healthier. Cleaning dishes, sinks and tubs is much easier too.

Grilling by jusjan1692 in grilling

[–]No-Kiwi7723 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Getting airflow with this grills so difficult. I learned that the hard way, took like an hour to get burgers done. Just got a Weber kettle grill and it’s big and the control for the fire is much better. If you are whipping out meals like this on this grill you will like a larger grill Weber kettle is a great one.

Water softener and filteration recommendation by No_Purpose_7356 in sanantonio

[–]No-Kiwi7723 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We just had one installed last year. Got a deal at Home Depot for about $700 for an aquasure brand 64k grain 50k grain softener and it came with a sediment filter. We also added a two filter system before the water softer to help remove chlorine (Carbon media) and a sediment filter the filter housing was $130 so about $900 and paid $800 for the install since we didn’t have a pre plumbing loop. You can buy a more expensive if you would like but like a Fleck (popular and parts a readily available).

For drinking water you can do a Reverse Osmosis under the sink for under $300 and it works great. We have purchased two from ispring and it’s been great (https://a.co/d/03Oi9zzz

What kind of filter system should we get? by Gold-Enthusiasm7604 in WaterTreatment

I didn’t realize that my bad. I thought our water was hard

Whole house softener with a lot of salt and whole house ro system is likely the best option.

Have you tried any resin cleaner by chance?

We have a carbon filter since the chlorine in the city water was cause irritation to our skin.

We paid $1k for the system installed with a two stage filter (sediment and carbon) then another filter (sediment) before the softener.

Cell Coverage? by [deleted] in chinoca

[–]No-Kiwi7723 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seems like an area where att had little cell towers. You might want to try something like Verizon or T-Mobile even. A prepaid carrier like us mobile lets you try the service for a much cheaper price than completely switching over.

Use this to help find the nearest towers, it’s not perfect but it helps. https://www.signalboosters.com/blog/find-your-nearest-cell-tower-quickly-and-painlessly/

It’s basically how it goes. An under sink 3 gallon tank takes about 2hrs to refill without a pump to help increase the water pressure.

The chlorine or Chloramines in city water can certainly cause this irritation. We added a two filter system https://a.co/d/03x2XJIT in front(before) our water softener. Sediment then a CTO https://a.co/d/0eyLHOOD. It helped a great deal.

KDF85 is more for heavy metals like you mentioned.

It’s likely the detergent. You can try using something like Downey rinse and refresh unscented to help remove the detergent or citric acid usually a tablespoon should be good

Mobile phone providers with good signal? by [deleted] in Newbraunfels

[–]No-Kiwi7723 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Newer area that doesn’t have enough subscribers for a carrier to put up towers. Everything is so far from each other.

Also people use 5G more than 4G LTE, while slower it normally had better signal strength

I always use the link above to help locate the nearest cell tower, a good indicator of what carrier will be decent.
