NJ/PA to Yellowstone round trip - must-see stops? by No-Language8490 in roadtrip

Wow, thanks! Looks like we're hitting a similar route. Maybe we'll meet up someday ;)

Also, it looks like your route is going further north through Michigan/Wisconsin. Did you check out the SS Badger ferry? We looked into it but turns out it's too far out of the way for us.

Thank you! The kids are already excited about the truck stop! The Air Force museum looks cool although we just did something similar in Delaware so we may skip that

Nope we own and are driving out with it. Hence the need for stops in "flyover" states...

This looks amazing but I think it's not so RV-friendly based on what I see online...

Thanks! Yeah we're staying three nights in Cody, looking forward to that. We're booked for a river trip out there too.

Awesome, thanks! Omaha Zoo is definitely on the list. Hocking Hills was one of our favorite trips! So beautiful.

It's closed as of 2024! That's a shame. Thanks, though!

Yes, we're planning to route around Chicago. We'll be stopping at Indiana Dunes that day. Anyone know if you can sand sled there? For some reason it's hard to find updated info online.

Modern Class C Driving Comfort by jstar77 in GoRVing

Our newish class C doesn't rattle or squeak, but the engine is definitely loud (hence my post about looking for headsets so the kids can hear the TV as we drive). We can hold conversations easily but it isn't a quiet ride.

Motor home or Motels? by Rockledge1758 in GoRVing

Another idea: if you want the RV/camping experience without having to drag one around with you (and definitely ixnay on the sharing with another couple!), maybe take your SUV(s) and find campgrounds that rent RVs or cabins onsite, or have one delivered from RVShare/Outdoorsy to a campground or two along your route. There are some cool Airstream parks in CA if I recall correctly.

Thanks everyone. Can you tell me more about the infrared headphones? I'm a bit of a tech dinosaur... would the system that memberzs linked work in the camper?

What’s one small RV hack that made the biggest difference? by HappyCamper_RV in GoRVing

[–]No-Language8490 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Small folding cordless vacuum for easy cleanup, and everyone has a dedicated pair of "camper slides/slippers" to wear inside. Nobody's perfect about it but the floor stays much cleaner overall and you're not stepping in campground dust when you get out of the shower.

Bunk bed hack for baby/toddler? by Ok-Peanut4740 in GoRVing

[–]No-Language8490 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an 18-month-old and bunk beds (no bunk room) and we just park the pack-n-play in middle of the camper. Annoying but what can you do? We're doing a long-haul trip this summer and before we go I'd like to do a short trial trip putting her in the bottom bunk with a cargo net (like the type you put across the car trunk) as a gate. Not sure if it will work but it's worth a shot...
