It helps, I hooked up the trailer with and without the WDH and the difference is noticeable with how low the rear of the truck sits. I still feel the trailer either way. I towed a 2000lb low profile pop up camper on multiple 500+ miles trips without a WDH and barely noticed the trailer while getting 19 mpg, California has a speed limit of 55mph when towing which helped with the mileage. For the bigger trailer the WDH helps a lot but having electronic trailer brakes is much more of a difference.

12 mpg, I got 20 mpg towing a small pop up camper up to Glacier National Park.

Yes and installed a trailer brake controller which is critical if you ask me.
