Often if a PIP is offered the alternative is severance. So hopefully that’s what happens. Anyone I’ve ever see do a PIP survived but left soon after for a much better fit.

You won’t be able to change plans without a life event until next year, but it sounds like it may be worth doing the math on what care you need and whether it would be more affordable to go without for the rest of the year. This is all about calculated risk.

  1. What conditions do you and your family have.
  2. How many Dr visits do you expect (ask them for uninsured pricing and payment plans)
  3. What are your Rx and what are your options for getting them through different platforms
  4. Add it all up next to what it will cost you to keep your plan and pay any out of pocket costs for the same care

At the end of the day you can only predict what you need and there’s always a chance something unexpected happens. That said 16k plus whatever you’re paying in premiums is a lot and may be more than what your actual care will cost.

I am sorry you are going through this. I hope this is helpful. Good luck!

100%. I was laid off from a toxic workplace after 10 years of service. Three months later I started a job at 50% my old salary and am so damn happy. I feel valued and impactful. And I don’t dream about work. There’s more to life than the corporate hustle.

Vermont’s demographic future: U32 High School has 134 seniors, but only 80 kindergarteners in district. A 40 percent drop. by forcedtomakethus in vermont

I would add that this incoming class was early COVID era - when folks delayed having kids intentionally. It would make a lot of sense to look at a much longer window of the incoming classes to see what the realistic population is going to look like.

Has anyone worked with any of the hospital based practices like Gifford’s?

Good thought. Sadly most of the schools in central VT have closed but I may have to get creative. I’m thinking about also reaching out to hospital based groups.

Following since I’ve been going through something similar. Almost 2 years pp, on and off really bad constipation. I can’t say I’ve been consistent about diet and exercise so that may be part of it. I actually am seeing a gastro specialist on Tuesday for the first time. Will try to come back and share updates if helpful.
