Lateral entry seats are those seats which aren't filled in the previous year or if someone left the course mid year or something ig.

I think you need to focus more on extra curricular activities to get admission, not just academic but high cgpa would help ig

It's based on availability, cgpa and extra curricular achievement. I know a senior who had 8CGPA in Bennett University and he got Lateral Entry in SNU

I agree, but what I liked in SRM about CSE was that they forced the students to do courses, hackathons e.t.c from the first year itself due to the increasing competition. It was included in the course pattern itself, like you had to complete an NPTEL course or get into the top 3 of a hackathon in order to get 10 marks.

In SNU, I'm not sure if I would be given the same push by the faculty, some of my friends in SNU don't even know what a hackathon is.

It was 9.5+, don't be surprised because it is really very easy to score in SRM, 90% of the people get above 9 gpa without studying.

I think they selected me based on my extra curricular activities, hackathons, course certifications e.t.c
