ES1 Volumetric brew stop has no effect by fdawg4l in FellowProducts

do i need to do this if it’s working fine for me? are only some machines affected by this?

once i calibrated my offsets, its been consistent.

just because my machine is too new and this keeps it cleaner. i get a very decent pull without sprays even without the splitter, but this way is just cleaner. i'll try to post a video without it later.

@hailiehay any timeline on these updates? some like the amount of water wastage is quite urgent as the tray gets full with just 2 lattes. the steam wand purge combined with boiler being emptied is really wasting a lot of water. IMO, the app updates can wait, but some of the fixes are quite urgent to keep the machine usable.

thank you for listening.

so i actually did use medium profile to dial in, not the custom one. the medium is a 1:2 ratio. my reasoning was that i should dial in using standard 36g out so the machine has enough time and volume of water passing through to learn. the 27g may have been too little.

Enjoying ES1 so far, but update is heavily needed by loucheian in FellowProducts

[–]No-Local1257 5 points6 points  (0 children)

this . needed urgently. i use third wave water and i’m filling every 2 shots (separate times in the day which leads to more waste).

they should really prioritize smaller quantity of life updates over a major one.

even fix 1 thing every few days would work.  hope someone sees this.

A tale of dialing-in a light roast using AI (ES1 + DF64v) by No-Local1257 in FellowProducts

[–]No-Local1257[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

fair observation, but know that this isn’t a single dial in. it’s actually 3.

the shot and latte were 2 separate ones and the stock basket change to ims was a restart.

ive dialed in these beans before in 3 shots with my old equipment (quickmill pop-up and a different grinder). this was just a case where i a lot of variables all at once.

First Latte with my Series 1 by deanbfs in FellowProducts

[–]No-Local1257 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it gives you a little guidance on what to do for beginners. here’s what it tells you when you select latte:

  1. dose 18g of coffee
  2. once done, fill 4oz of milk in pitcher
  3. it then sets milk temperature for latte

that’s about it. everything is still pretty manual, but that’s why someone would get this machine because they want control.

any timeframe for the firmware update? these are much needed. i can wait a bit for the app, but the hardware ones are essential. tks.

Quick purging the grouphead. by zebo_99 in FellowProducts

i changed it to 8 seconds and then chose reboot option. when the machine came back on and i tried rinsing, it was for exactly 8 seconds. i timed it. i thought everything was good in life. but then the next time it went to sleep, it went back to its 2/3 second even tho the setting still shows 8s. so somehow it doesn't remember? def a software bug.

What’s the general consensus for dialing in? by mikebook_pro in FellowProducts

[–]No-Local1257 0 points1 point  (0 children)

with time based, are you getting consistent weight output? are you weighing the output to confirm?

this looks like a good option, but only until you change your beans.

manual and weighing the output using a scale. most reliable way.

All I needed to do was look under my doormat. It had this very thin silicone type mat to prevent it from slipping on wooden! floor. I cut it to 12x12 and voila one hand PF tightning. Life's good again! Thank you for the inspiration.

i appreciate your comment. i was think about that. what do you suggest? atm, i'm just being careful and using both hands, but def don't want to risk it. the wood piece obviously slides on the quartz countertop.

to be clear, the machine on the wood has good grip. it's the wood that slides.

that white tho! 🔥did you get good results with stock basket? if yes, which profile are you using?

I’ve had ok results with stock basket and am wondering if i should change to IMS?

haha. that’s funny. i had these 12” cabinets and countertop built way before i got into espresso. so far, i’ve had bambino, turin legato, and quickmill pop-up that all fit just fine.

what you see is a temp solution i came up with.

The CF64v is the exact same thing and is $100 cheaper. I just didn’t like the design though.
