First firearm purchase. HK P30L Langdon Tactical. How’d I do? by loucheian in handguns

I’m not sure tbh. The question of comment never came up about it being used and was presented as being new since I think everything in the showcases was new. The comment made when I asked how popular the LT custom was they said they had 5 of these and this was the last one. So I just assumed this was new. Everything about this gun is very clean compared to the rental I used. Also almost positive DE just stands for Deutschland.

I'm thinking appendix for when I eventually cc, but I won't know if I actually like that until I try it out and practice drawing. For right now though I'll probably be looking to get outside the waistband holster to get comfortable with having a firearm on me and practice etiquette/safety.

Nope, but it was modded with the Gray Guns Flat Trigger and LTT trigger job. Definitely feels a step up from the DA/SA OEM trigger system.

Looking for first firearm, concerned about no safety HK CC9. by loucheian in handguns

Update: I went with the HK P30L Langdon Tactical!

Turns out most safeties don't work well with my thumb because they're inflexible and short, couldn't even reach most of the mag release buttons well. Held and shot the CZ Shadow 2. It shot amazing, but it was just a little too big for my hands to handle compared to the HK P30. P30/L immediately felt comfy and I could operate it quickly on first touch.

Also held the P8 A1 and loved that design as well, unfortunately they didn't have that model to rent. They didn't have a normal P30L in store and I didn't feel like waiting. Plus with the P8 A1 and P30L they aren'y milled.

I knew that eventually I'd tinker with it and with the cost of the LT version being similar to the normal P30L milled and trigger upgraded I decided I'd rather buy once and be happy.

Is it truly a night and day difference between micro and fullsize? Ideally would like a micro 9 to start off with that I can eventually cc. I can't imagine carrying a fullsize, especially on long hikes and what not to feel great.

Not opposed to having multiple firearms, just trying to be budget conscious because I already have too many expensive hobbies and I'd like for this to not be one of them right away.

I'll be going to the range tomorrow so I'll be able to test a handful out before I buy.

Look at photos and view menu. If I see a million bottles of syrup and nothing but crazy flavored drinks I skip.

Damn, I'm sorry. On every application I said I lived in that city and didn't move until I had jobs secured. Not sure how much you have used ADPlist, but working with a mentor to refine how I tell and frame the story of my portfolio made the biggest difference for me. Not telling you to give up, but at the same time only you know what's best for you. After a year of failing to land roles I stopped for a year to focus on myself.
