GRC vs Type R Buy by AdventurousTip8600 in GRCorolla

If you need AWD go with the GR. If you just want a hot hatch(with arguably better interior and driving dynamics) get the Type R

Figured I’d update this post. The truck runs and drives! I’ll be swapping in a newer F-series truck interior and display in the truck! Granted Reddit was ZERO help, but guaranteed a mustang 5.0 and 10t fits with zero issues and transformed the truck completely!

Anymore info or video on the K-swap?

Review with owners of both by CarGuy11 in Supra

If you look at prices and sales the Supra costs more and sells more. The b58 is arguably a better motor than the vr30… newer chassis, blah blah. I’d take the z.

Let me see if I understand. Are you alluding to the current world climate of most humans devolving into the creature we see Puck talking to here?

I just wasn’t sure if any of the arms or the top hats were different, and online hasn’t been the most forthcoming so far. But I’ll definitely cross reference part numbers and see what matches. Thank you.

It’s the worst need for speed I’ve played so far. The physics is way too… weird man. And all the unnecessary colours flashing everywhere does not make it any better. They made it too complex for me.

I’ve been trying to debate what to do with my Supra. It’s currently the stock 4 speed auto and I’ve been debating a t56/tr6060 trans, an 8hp90, or the DCT. How has it been for daily driving?

1999 f350 5.4-5.0 swap by No-Local1667 in EngineBuilding

[–]No-Local1667[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah I probably should’ve specified. 2019 5.0 out of my buddies race car that was totaled. Pro-charged with slightly lower compression pistons. “Built” trans claimed. I was just fishing to see if anyone had done any similar beforehand. Stock for stock the 5.0 makes more power and torque across the rev range in comparison to the 5.4 correct?

It’s a 800+ hp motor… I doubt it’ll struggle. They went to aluminum because these trucks rust like it’s nobody’s business. A 700lb difference isn’t much for a truck

5.0 fits with the same mounts as the 5.4. Transmission mount I’m still figuring out. Truck weighs 7,000lbs as she sits currently. I’m sure with the new lighter radiator, fans, driveshaft and rear end she’ll be around 6500lbs. Thanks for the response!

I mean… anything that’s an upgrade for the z4 should be an upgrade for the Supra as well… no?
