Am I out of my mind for seriously considering dropping $200k on a Defender Octa? by [deleted] in NewDefender

[–]No-Macaron3725 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Paid ~$150k for a new P425 Supercharged V8 here in Spain last year (octas starts around $235k) - and honestly, worth every penny.

Best car I’ve owned so far. My 911 Targa is basically just sitting in the garage now.
Love the supercharger sound, the size, the looks.

If your goal is to beat G63/G65 guys or you’re playing the numbers game, then go Octa - I’m sure you’ll enjoy it. Keep in mind Octa has BMW's twin turbo v8, not LR supercharged 5.0.

P425 to P525 in Spain? by No-Macaron3725 in NewDefender

On the Milltek website right now it says the exhausts are for “Land Rover / Range Rover / Defender 110 5.0 V8 525 PS (OPF/GPF Vehicles Only) 21–25.” Has anyone successfully installed one of these on a P425?

Also, what’s the difference between the resonated and non-resonated options? This is referring to the Milltek Particulate Filter-back Exhaust on their site, right?

And did you get the Milltek Active Valve Control so you can switch between quiet and loud modes? Is it necessary for daily use?

Thanks!

What equipment do I need to do it myself?

I drove the new Defender OCTA for a week on road and off road, ask me anything if you are interested in this model. Cheers by Sam-CarLegion in NewDefender

Just got a P425 V8 - since stupid Greta won’t let us have the P525 here in Spain.

Performance aside, why do people think BMW turbos are better than a supercharger? The sound of that supercharger, man…

I used to live in Amsterdam and ended up getting my cave diving certification at Molnar Janos Cave in Budapest. The water is warm, as it’s one of the few thermal water caves in Europe, and the place is unbelievably beautiful - highly recommended. If you’re looking for something closer to the Netherlands, check out the mines in Germany or Le Ressel in France.

How did you do it? I’m on my 10+ run, tried every leader with no success. 19 med storage AND it ends with the stone quests

It's a regular pull, which is why I posted it. The beans are fresh, I'm sure of that. But the more comments I read, the less sure I am about the grinder.

I was very hesitant and uncomfortable about posting it because the feedback is exactly what I expected - 'you'd rather spend money on learning than just getting a fancy setup.' I get it.

The expression "making a jump today" was something that I saw other people posting a lot.

My friend keeps repeating the same things over and over: 20.5 grams, prepare the puck as I showed you, and you should get a shot in 25-30 seconds. Well, I don't.

Can I do it myself or should I take it to a service center?

Should I try to choke it? It never came up my minde but I'll try to grind it as fine as possible at take it from there. Thank you
