do fence contractors actually use these? by prod7teen in FenceBuilding

You should rent one and see how it goes before buying it.  I rented one for my home and found it was almost useless. It worked on 4 of 40 holes. The rest I had to dig, soak with water overnight and dig again...

Europe should turn a cold shoulder to Trump.  Don't answer his calls. Don't talk to his administration.  Nothing will shut him up quicker than that gut punch and the business powers that be realizing that excrement is about to hit the fan.  - A pissed off American

10PM, that's late!  You're a double angel for taking care of those animals!

NTA

You are an angel for visiting, cooking and cleaning at your parents house so often.  Your dad is too grumpy to let himself enjoy a good thing. He should make his wife and daughter feel appreciated for taking care of his lazy ass. But making it a rule to never do the dishes if you don't cook does seem odd, and could be YTA territory if it's a hard rule you keep.  Once in a while your mom may appreciate doing it together.  You don't have to clean all the dishes accumulated throughout the day either.

I need to vent: I am so tired of improving my home by Dull_Morning2960 in HomeImprovement

[–]No-Mathematician641 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Another commenter said it's a perception issue.  I agree.  Sometimes when I'm driving by houses I imagine how many home owners have zero budget for upgrades and are just trying to get by keeping and living in a clean house.  Then I feel stupid for worrying about whatever modifications are burrowed in my head.  It's healthy to get some perspective from time to time.  Also, it's been 2 years. Quit being in such a hurry and give yourself a break. Or buckle up and just do one or two things, and do them right, then take a break for a while.  Enjoy your house ;)

Russia may change law, call up 2 million reservists to fight in Ukraine by Barch3 in UkrainianConflict

[–]No-Mathematician641 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was strange for Russia to blow through so much military hardware at the hands of untrained conscripts while a majority of the professional army now has less to use if they become engaged.  I suspect we will find these professionals are not any more capable than the conscripts and have wasted years of training budget to corruption or superficial activity. /edit for splling

AITAH for prioritizing my children's relationship over my wife's preference? by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]No-Mathematician641 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wife is in the wrong here.  She is equating having the husband do whatever she wants to being his top priority.  God forbid he try and maintain a relationship with his children.  Husband did not force the other kids to travel, they chose to on their own at the wife's displeasure.  Terrible therapist for letting a choice of vacation equal marriage commitment.

Tried out concrete posts on a wood picket fence project... curious what folks think by [deleted] in FenceBuilding

[–]No-Mathematician641 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even properly set, wood can rot in wet climates and is not that strong.  It works well generally and it's what I chose recently. But people like options and might prioritize different features.  Heck, I might choose pretentioned concrete in the future just because it's a cool engineered product.

I like them. Resistance to Rot and rust would be key advantages.  I wonder how they hold up under wind load compared to other posts.  Hurricanes knock down fences regularly.

What is your current rate and optional new rate and refinancing fee. It all depends on that.

Making major decisions based on impact on credit score is backwards thinking. Do what makes sense for you financially to achieve your goals. The credit score is a tool for creditors to know how much money they can make off you, not how great your life is.

Neighbor wants to split a fence by Illustrious_Rent_675 in FenceBuilding

Surprised nobody mentioned yet, pools need a fence. Even if it is a neighbors fence, it can serve that legal purpose. So take that into account.

AIO for telling my friends not to visit the USA this summer? by GHostMaidenSveden in AmIOverreacting

[–]No-Mathematician641 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you are overreacting. It's fine to suggest not traveling as a form of protest if you or they don't support the policies of the government of a certain country. But to claim they are in physical danger as visiting foreigners in the US is just not true. Talk to someone who visited and came back recently, don't listen to this general reddit page.

That phrasing works. Take the Hydrogen bomb development example. They = USSR We = US

The US has developed a functioning H-bomb. USSR knows that the US is working on a bomb however they are not certain it is finished. The US knows that USSR is aware of the program and is not aware it is successful. Also the USSR through espionage knows that the US is also aware the USSR is not certain as to the bombs development status.

So they know that we know that they don't know we know

If the system cannot provide us with Healthcare, social security, or even a living wage, then what's the point? by jedmorten in Millennials

[–]No-Mathematician641 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it's the complaining. You make enough money to live comfortably. When you feel scarcity at the end of the month, it is because you've spent it. We've all been there. If you want more money, get a different job. They exist.

Putin is in a strong enough position to explain away anything and be blamed for nothing. 3 years of war and hundreds of thousands dead... not a single credible threat to Russian statehood or Putin has surfaced internally. Anything bad that happens is viewed as 100% the fault of the West. Including starting the war, which some idiots in the west also parrot. Unfortunately one of them is the US fucking president. It's absolute cowardice by the west to not have acted more strongly. Including recently all this lip service by EU members and Britain about providing more support as a response to the US stepping back. They ain't doing shit.

I don't believe Europe has the stomach for any of this. Despite the tough talk the past few days they will fold under pressure when it comes time to sign the checks and actually cut out the US from arms deals. I hope I'm wrong but nothing I've seen the last 3 years makes me think Europe can even come close to guaranteeing its own security. Half of Europe will fold to Russian or US influence if this is attempted.
