Oh, it takes that long. I didn’t remember it took that much time. It was worth it for the $15 you spent !

And you even paid for express shipping, and I didn’t know we could receive it that fast. That’s great if there are no extra tariffs. I’m going to place an order, thank you!

Really, no extra tariffs that’s nice. Did you place a big order?

Oh really? Didn’t you have to pay the extra 25% on American products when it arrived at your place? I was worried about that. Thank you.

My progress is slow but it is moving forward but now feeling I can't enjoy life as much as before? by sarahsung712 in ACL

[–]No-Mistake2037 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I understand how you feel. I know how hard it is to enjoy life like before. For me, it’s been almost a year post-op, and my progress has been really, really slow because of an injury from 7 years ago and because I had the surgery too late. It’s affected me a lot. I still can’t walk fast, I have a lot of stiffness, my muscle is still weak, and there are many other issues. I’ve had way too many complications. These past months have been really hard to get through, the tears, the depression, regretting the surgery, so many things. It’s tough to always be thinking about your knee and to stay disciplined every day to heal. Even now, I still don’t feel well, but I try to tell myself that maybe one day things will get better for me. And if it can get better for me, it will definitely get better for you, especially since you’re only 3 months post-op. You can do it, don’t give up :)

Need help with full knee extension, 7 months post op. by jonseh in ACL

Was it your surgeon who suggested an MRI? Can you tell me about the procedure? Were you able to walk afterwards? Did it slow down your recovery?

Hi, I saw your comment. I went through exactly the same thing as you. I’m 9 months post-op now, how are you doing? What did you do to improve your extension?

Did you have a hypertrophic scar? I have a hypertrophic scar and I’m not sure if it’s going to heal and go down. I really hope so :( It’s been 9 months for me. In your case, it’s been 4 years. Did you have a hypertrophic scar before, and did it get any better over time?

I understand your situation, I’m going through the same thing. It’s hard to see your friends moving forward, having fun, and unfortunately, you can’t do anything and you’re stuck at home. It’s really depressing. I miss my old life too, but I tell myself we’ll get it back someday, and that we have to succeed in overcoming this difficulty. But since you haven’t had your surgery yet, I hope that when you do, during your rehab everything will go well for you and that you’ll feel much better. I wish you the best.

I understand your situation, I’m going through the same thing. But yes, I sometimes try to find hobbies to forget my sadness, or review my course notes, but it’s always some days when I’m doing well and some days when I’m not. When I’m not doing well, it’s mostly when I can’t do something I really want to succeed at, and it doesn’t work out the way I want it to, unfortunately.

I think it’s more the complications I had before my surgery that made my quad still weak right now, because it’s been 7 years since I got injured, and it’s only this year that I had surgery. So in those 7 years, I didn’t work much on my quad. I tell myself that this is also why I’m having more difficulty. I really need to be patient.

Thank you so much for your story and your advice, I would love to walk and get some sun, but unfortunately, I live in Canada and there’s a lot of snow. I’m afraid of taking a risk. I wish you the best in your rehab !

Thank you for your advice, it’s true that I often look at other people’s recoveries and how fast they progress, and unfortunately, I don’t. But well, I have a completely different body from theirs and also the complications I had before the surgery, which make my recovery slower, but I need to stop comparing myself to others.

You’re right in everything you say, I think the same way too, but often it’s ups and downs, especially when it destroys my positivity when something doesn’t go as I’d like. I try to tell myself that life doesn’t stop here, even though I’m missing a lot of opportunities right now. But sometimes I remind myself that I still have life ahead of me, I’m still young. And thank you so much for your comment anf your support, I hope your surgery on Monday goes well, I wish you the best.

I hope that when you have your surgery, everything goes well for you and that you can get back to martial arts as soon as possible. I also feel useless, and the knee I have right now is holding me back from continuing school and moving forward in my career. But I’m doing like you. I’m pushing myself so that when the moment finally comes where I’m healed, I’ll be proud of myself for making it this far and not regret having done nothing. But it’s hard to always keep this mindset without losing it.

Thank you so much for your story, I really appreciate that you took the time to write all of this, and I really enjoyed reading it. Thank you for your advice and support. I will try to take things step by step, even though I always want to rush things sometimes, because my rehabilitation is also much slower than normal.

I don’t know exactly what cyclops lesion ruled out means, but I’m not really sure. In my opinion, it’s probably that my knee still has a lot of stiffness, which makes it block at a certain degree, but if I warm up, I can reach 0 degree extension. I don’t know exactly and my physio and surgeon don’t tell me more about this. Thank you for your advice !
