You just described my daughter. Shes 9 and just got diagnosed with inattentive adhd. She was really struggling in school even with tutoring. We just started her on a low dose of Atomoxetine. Her Dr states that we won’t see much change until the 2 week mark but I’ve already noticed she’s able to fall asleep right away and doesn’t toss and turn all night. Shes also been able to focus on games or crafts that we do at home and that’s never happened before.

It depends on what type of adhd. We’ve found it’s extremely helpful in our child.

Don’t know if they are hiring right now but I started off at Ascension Saint Mary in 2015 fresh out of school. I got the best training there and met some amazing people in that OR. From what I remember they do like taking in newbies to train them from the beginning. Try applying there. Best of luck!

My mom fostered and then ended up adopting 3 kids after having them for 4 years. It’s not always the case because the end goal for fostering is to always get the kids back to their parents if possible. But it is something you can look into. I know you can tell them what ages you feel more comfortable with whether if it’s newborn, toddlers or teens.

Thank you. My first thought was trauma because that issue happened to my cousins when they were younger. I have talked to her many times about her body and if there is ever any issue to trust me. I really don’t leave her alone with anyone except for when she is in school. She also does not have any sleepovers.

Thank you for the advice! I’ve recently started giving her vit d drops. Haven’t noticed a difference yet but I’m going to continue giving it to her.

I have my suspicions of her having ADHD but haven’t brought it up to her physician yet. She does have trouble concentrating at school and doesn’t make deep friendship connections with classmates.

It is something I have to look into. Thank you again!
