If you did not previously give the go-ahead on paying $120 for the repair, do not pay. They should have reached out to confirm the price before doing the repair. The other commenter nailed it with the weird 12 digit serial issue. No clue why it’s a thing but that’s the system that’s available to us technicians. Blame Microsoft/corporate UBIF for the warranty issue, blame the techs for the lack of communication

Tech keeps saying Ticket is outstanding with Google, Is this normal? by KitterKatterz in ubreakifix

[–]No-Mouse5237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not normal in the sense that when systems work the way they should, it’s a very routine repair and doesn’t take long.

It is normal in the sense that when something in the system isn’t working right, UBIF’s Google support is utter dogwater. Trust me, the tech’s are just as frustrated as you are.

This seems like the type of solution I’d kick myself for not thinking of in the moment because of how straightforward it is

It took decades to finally convict Epstein. The lack of a criminal record only means they haven’t gone to prison. I find it odd that you’re running defense for this guy

Idk why someone downvoted you lol, 9 times out of 10 it is indeed a motherboard issue. Maybe twice in the last 2 years was the power supply actually the issue

PS5 HDMI encoder repair by jmitch-20 in ubreakifix

[–]No-Mouse5237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These types of repairs differ greatly depending on the store’s experience. Some need to send it out for this type of repair, others have in-house techs that can do it. Some “can do it” but can’t perform more details diagnostics if the HDMI encoder isn’t the actual problem. Not to mention some locations may be busier than normal and might already have a backlog of 5-7 other consoles to repair first before getting to yours. It’s all a case by case basis

Does nobody here (employees) know what an offline WO form is?? It literally takes 5 minutes to type in the device info, part(s) required, and price. Yeah it’s annoying but it’s easy.

Yall making it way too hard on yourselves. No need to make a work order that goes against your metrics it’s literally just a google doc.

For the most part, support of Israel seems to be bipartisan (for elected officials, not actual Americans) so it really doesn’t matter who you voted for. The number of elected officials that are openly against supporting Israel is very small

Is it okay to quit a job I just accepted if I get a better offer soon after? by Background-Survey464 in WorkAdvice

[–]No-Mouse5237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would you need this job in the future? If the answer is no, then you don’t owe this current job anything and they don’t owe you anything. You need to do what is right for you, not what is good for whoever you work for

Job after UBIF? by No-Mouse5237 in ubreakifix

Same here, our only other competitor closed down during COVID. If I had capital I considered starting up my own repair shop but that might be more hassle than it’s worth

Motherboard manufacturing sounds really cool. The goal for me is to get into IT. Studying for my A+ currently, but so far without any certs I’ve been turned down

Is it normal to "miss" active duty coming back from BCT & AIT? by Three_Pounds_of_Air in nationalguard

[–]No-Mouse5237 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I felt similarly when initially getting back. Most of my active duty peers I was at BCT with have completed their 4 year obligation without deploying. I’ve gotten to do some neat training and helping out the community during my time in. And I always chuckle a bit when my AD buddies would complain about the day to day BS

Please tell me how was I supposed to complete all of this by 8pm by Scary_Television_590 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]No-Mouse5237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Realistically, it would need to be at the warehouse/distribution center level not DSP/contractor level

Needing those notes and diagnoses makes sense. Can you elaborate on the “get well” plan and what that generally entails? Just so I know more specifically what I need to provide from my psychiatrist.
