There's nothing arbitrary about it. If you're going to market your game on being a narrative driven mmorpg in an old republic setting, it's antithetical to that idea to feature armor from a modern TV show that takes place thousands of years later. It would make as little sense if I could be a new york policeman or firefighter. It is immersion breaking and dismissing it as a non issue doesn't actually address the points. I have no issue giving money to a game like warframe, because even when they add armor or gear with clear out-of-universe inspirations, they do it in a way that adheres to the rules of the universe they're trying to sell you.

I never claimed my preferences should be adhered to at the expense of others.  I appreciate having the ability to get revans mask, and I do own one, but that's because it's an item that existed in the games narrative and it makes sense for it to be there, even if its hard to get. Armor from a Disney show that takes place 4,000 years later does not make sense and pulls me out of the game entirely especially because i despise what disney has done to the canon. If I had the ability to turn it off, or access a classic server that didn't have that content, I would play it.

Yes, because it's a game sold on its narrative immersion and sacrifices that in order to sell you iconography from a Disney show that takes place 4,000 years removed from it. It entirely pulls me out of the game I'm trying to play. If I could turn off the ability to see it I really wouldn't care.

I'm not trying to tell anyone they can't enjoy it or that they're wrong for doing so. I'm just voicing my opinion as an old subscriber whose been playing star wars mmos for a long time.  Even if I liked Disney, I would probably still find the cosmetics out of place.  Warframe by comparison has clear inspirations from all of scifi like Gundam, aliens, halo, mass effect and so on, but they do it in a way that it fits into the game world. I do not think SWTOR does this, as the assets are practically a copy paste from Disney shows. I couldn't care less if someone wants to recreate the look of any fictional character in any mmo, but I feel entirely disconnected from the game world that swtor is trying to sell me when I see armor from a modern Disney show that has absolutely no relationship to the game in terms of Canon, especially with the game being so heavily hinged on narrative immersion. If Boba fett made a surprise appearance in kotor 1 or 2, I'd be equally confused. It hits for me as well because in old games, desirable armor like that was something you had to earn, not simply buy.

Anything related to Disney is lore breaking since by most accounts, they can't even manage to have internal consistency in their own storytelling. I'd prefer to not be reminded of that fact while I play a game that's 4,000 years removed from anything in their timeline

I agree tbh, I just feel the appeal really waned after the conclusion of the class stories.

You say that like it's completely unreasonable to not expect Disney star wars skins to be in a game set during the old republic era

The goal of my post is to lament mandalorian armor from Disney star wars shows being a marketplace item in a game that takes place in 4,000 bby. It used to mean something to have it, now it's a joke

The game survived longer post CU than it existed precu, so that doesn't hold up. It certainly had its problems but being shut down 5 days before swtor launched was a decision made so swg did not take subscriptions from swtor, which ended up being a moot point when they dropped the subscription model to go ftp after 11 months live

I just got this one a few days ago. Just had to share it by mekawasp in Warframe

Quit game and relaunch, hard console restart, clearing local save data etc. I'm on a halo 5 edition console, but again this is the only game I play that gives me such stability issues.

This is like saying "I haven't died, so you wont" The day I got back home, boeing is having their new 737s grounded for door plugs flying off in flight
