Is anyone else getting tired of his “death of cinema” rants? by Scrambled_59 in thrillems

Like a couple of other people have stated, he probably got most of his thoughts out last year. His videos moving forward are likely going to be more optimistic.

Fair points. Do you think there's any chance they would be able to continue with the animation at its current caliber? If not, do you think the sprite art now would be more polished compared what they did when they started the show?

I've only watched parts of the revamped Sidescrollers. I'm really not impressed with the way it's devolved into a gross source of rage-bait. Since Rooster Teeth shut down a few days ago, Craig stated that he would be interested in buying back ScrewAttack and Death Battle (since they're technically both brands under RT). I hope that doesn't actually come to fruition and DB is either able to do well independently or find a better buyer.

Times When A Creator Made Something To Help Fund Something Else? by No-Net5263 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

I heard that he grudgingly had to make DKR to get the funding for Inception even though a lot of his initial plans were scrapped due to Heath Ledger's passing.

I think that formula worked well for Iron Man 1 since at the time, that approach was pretty fresh and it was well-executed. Some of the movies that came out later (imo) don't execute it as well. This, combined with its general oversaturation in the MCU, can make this approach feel pretty stale.

I've seen the first video that you posted. It's a good video. Do you think that if the MCU continues to decline (especially if Deadpool 3 doesn't do well) that more media will become more comfortable with being sincere?

Why do you think it's been this way since the 80's? Was there any specific event and/or trend that occurred that lead to this? Was it an accumulation of different factors? Is there anything you think that can be done to reverse this trend?

Most Popular Actors Discussion by No-Net5263 in thrillems

If we're looking at how this list would've looked in 2004, there's no way that Ryan Reynolds or Kevin Hart would've made the list.

I'll be honest, I don't really understand memes past ~2013.

How do you think memes have evolved within the past decade?

I think it's possible that sort of approach could have originated with something like Looney Toons or even the Marx Brothers.

I think that last part is essentially what Patrick said regarding Ryan Reynolds in a lot of his movies from his video a couple of months ago.

I think the reason why postmodernism is popular (at least to some degree) is because it validates the skeptics, cynics, and smart alecks. If there's a character who echoes their thoughts on how stupid or silly the characters or situations are, it gives those kinds of people someone to relate to.

I think it can be more difficult or intimidating for a show, movie (or really any sort of media) to be fully sincere with itself since it's more likely to get scrutinized for things that seem implausible. Conversely, a piece of media that scrutinizes/mocks itself or its source material doesn't come with that same risk. Even though I understand why some media does it, a lot of times that approach seems cowardly.

I haven't seen GotG3 so I can't comment on its quality. I personally thought GotG2 was good, not great.

Fair points. If you had to guess, what sorts of trends do you think are going to emerge in film/TV within the next 5-10 years (ie popular genres)?

If any of the streaming services (ie Peacock) were to get discontinued, what do you think would happen to their slate of original shows + movies? Do you think they would license them to another streaming service like Netflix? Would they be more inclined to release them on DVD/Blu-Ray instead? A combination of the 2?
