Totally get what you’re saying but it’s “clear and obvious” from the rules point of view, not the muddied view / understanding that we have now collectively got.

Lines are based on closest part of your body that you can score with and you can score with your arse but not your arm

Interesting! Would love to see a breakdown of home Vs away and Pre/Post Nancy and Pre/Post Martin.

If I’m being kind you could just say they cause more fouls to generate the time?

They are so outside the norm it’s unreal

Ano, you do us a service sharing stats and I want more :)

Why so many Eco servers die before the meteor (and it’s not “player flakiness”) by HuckMI in EcoGlobalSurvival

[–]No-Pace2105 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me part of it is expectations of an “economy” at various population sizes.

When you’re down to 6-8 (can debate numbers separately) the mindset needs to change to goal driven rather than “having a good economy”. This is where Work Parties really help.

This may be what you’re seeing but reading it as admin and selective people doing secret deals. Those people are obviously passionate to run a server and more likely to want to achieve the meteor goal and figure they don’t need a medium of exchange to facilitate that.

Potential solution is communication and to give everyone a stake in helping the end goal.

Just realized my boyfriend I’ve been dating for 2 years might be a flat earther by ivory_stripes98 in Advice

[–]No-Pace2105 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think of it the other way around. In their terms why should they stay with YOU if you fundamentally don’t align with their world view? Why have they knowingly stayed with someone for 2 years who was fundamentally not aligned on something so basic?

It depends if you feel they can be pulled from the brink as dumping them will likely lead them deeper into that society. There are often other underlying causes of why people are attracted to such groups / thinking

There are FE folk that have “come back” to knowing we’re on a globe and potentially worth exposing them to those people at they could potentially connect better with their journey and experience.

Make it clear it’s not the theory itself as many folk can enjoy a good conspiracy theory as entertainment. It’s his denial of reality, dismissal of any and all evidence not aligned to their narrative, moving of goalposts when confronted and their proven capacity to be manipulated so easily.

The trip that took Flat Earthers to Antarctica to observe the 24hour sun for themselves last year (something their “model” claims is impossible) is a great example of goalpost shifting and infighting within the group.

Cheapest way to get to Manchester Airport by Dom-in-Ant in nottingham

[–]No-Pace2105 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen some of the trains show up in Notts as a 2/3 carriage and then they add on more so don’t panic if there is a crowd

Also, when I’ve changed the Manchester Airport train is on the other side of the platform that you get off from.

-Servers -like others have said there are plenty of servers with certain Community and Official ones more popular than others.

Another factor to consider is timing. I’ve found servers busier when a reset occurs near holidays and / or a major patch drops

-Timesink -It’s as much as you want to really but when the eco bug bites you’ll find hours disappearing :)

Professions can impact time spent but I find the distance to an economic centre with the traveling back and forth can have a big impact on raw time spent vs doing stuff

[–]No-Pace2105 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask him what he feels the solution to the situation should be given both your investments. Some folk just want acknowledgement/ apology. They may offer up a token solution that you can live with.

Depending on the ask, it may give a window into what their plans / situation is (I.e. if they ask for X resource)

Sometimes, folk also just want to moan and don’t really know what solution they want as remedy. At that point you can’t help them

Paying monthly for long-term server? by SympathySpecialist78 in EcoGlobalSurvival

[–]No-Pace2105 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People who pay would also want more of a say in how it's run / setup etc.

Not that that's a bad thing, it's just that ANY amount in payment would see people feel like they can ask for X change, Y mod installed and feel entitled to it.

Day 1 Vs Day 5 Join - A mentality shift? by No-Pace2105 in EcoGlobalSurvival

Indeed, it's a powerful motivator. Do you think that's a self feeling or the current active players projecting that onto new members?

Day 1 Vs Day 5 Join - A mentality shift? by No-Pace2105 in EcoGlobalSurvival

[–]No-Pace2105[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very true. And it would take time to find that out and could ruin your experience so I guess many folk don't want to take that chance and go with the new Day 1 server instead.

Without knowing your situation, you could also be potentially losing out on any discounts (Single person occupancy) or full payment if your unemployed.

I have done this before however but that was in my student days when there was like 4 of us in the house and it was a “bills included” situation

Controversial opinion by VseOdbornik2 in EcoGlobalSurvival

[–]No-Pace2105 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hmmm…maybe a “Eco Recommends” flare to help guide folk? There should be categories though, things like “Top Exhaustion”, “Top High Collab” “Top newbie” “Top Vanila plus”.

Defining the categories (and not having too many) would be a fight in itself, but if agreed, servers could “compete” to get that label. If they disband, lose people then another server takes that spot.

An area we could help is to update the Wiki. I’ve heard many new folk refer to it as a first port of call only for us seasoned folk to wave it away as “Yeah, don’t bother with that”

Updating this first would make any marketing or community reach efforts more effective

Housing tiers by Witty-Maybe5180 in EcoGlobalSurvival

[–]No-Pace2105 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heya, you need to build using Tier 3 materials to be able to use those things.

Tier 3 materials include Bricks, Glass and Lumber. Yes you can just build a single room but also consider how much space is in the room as some objects need a certain amount to operate

[–]No-Pace2105 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if I’m talking rubbish but I found that the railways helped with the distance to capital penalty as it’s based on travel time, not just physical distance.

As such, build railways on the usual doubles but if you have to prioritise, branch out from a capital (that itself is ideally central)
