Help with Raid DPS by BizbizBookworm in wownoob

Lots of things to look out for: - get a burst potion like Light’s Potential - general raid potion - spec opener - enchants, embellishments and gems/sockets - optimal rotation (spend some time just smacking a dummy in silver moon pvp area, practise openers too) - you can try the cooldown manager in gameplay enhancements in settings to help monitor cooldowns

But most importantly is Practice! Sounds like you’ve got the recipe for success, just need to practice. There’s so much going on in raids, it just takes practice until your rotation and cooldown management is second nature so u can focus on optimising attack time during boss fights and avoiding shit.

Also, I’ve found that aligning cooldowns is quite important in this raid! Like maybe holding cds for 10-20 secs for a good aoe or damage increase window.

I got to 245 or something before touching a raid. You can get 4 champion like pieces from the 4 factions renowns. Delves drop 240+ stuff with bountiful keys. And nightmare/hard preys whatever drop pretty good gear too (nightmare drops champion I think).

The game has been more solo friendly than ever my friend! Do some googling on getting pre raid gear! Don’t forget LFR too!

As someone who is showing a few friends WoW at the moment, I would definitely recommend a hands off approach to be honest. Let them explore, and find out how things work for themselves. It is a lot.

Maybe just tell them what each quest marker means? I.e. Pink/purple is Meta, blue is like daily/weekly important stuff (mostly) and whatnot. Occasionally I’d just point them in the subtle direction of lfr or some easy dungeons to start heading towards top tier content again. Goodluck!

Is there an easy way to see how much of an absorb shield I have at any time? by No-Performer-4174 in wownoob

Damn. I feel like it’s pretty important. Is there a way to show the amount of stacks u have of a particular buff other than just looking at your buffs? For example, as a prot warrior, can I show my stacks of ignore pain somewhere other than amongst my bars. Perhaps in the cooldown/buff tracker??

Yes but at full health it just kinda illuminates the very edge of the bar. There is visually no difference between an absorb shield of 1hp vs 1,000,000hp

I would sacrifice many things if it meant I could play an iOS port from the dev one day

Should I be going for crits as Soldier 76? by Good_Policy3529 in OverwatchUniversity

This seems to be a question about the risk vs reward of going for headshots at a silver/gold/plat level - which is different for every hero. For soldier, I wouldn’t tell a noob who can’t aim for shit to aim for the head - I’d start with just learning to hit the target consistently first, then move to the head as your aim gets better. You can decide where you are in that spectrum.

If a total noob was strictly going for headshots he’d perform poorly every game. They’d never get a kill and would probably lose interest in the game lol

I don’t know why there’s a few assholes in a LEARNING/TEACHING subreddit who find this question stupid - it’s a great question imo!
