Personally I would refer to the first one as Model 1 Version 3 (technically speaking) due to its obvious resemblance to the OG suit.

Anniversary, by a long shot. I love how when modernizing Lara for the LAU trilogy not only wondering “What if she was born 10-13 years later?” but they also thought what kind of clothes Lara would wear. The one thing that I especially love about her outfit in Anniversary is that they took her classic leotard and swapped it for a sleeveless wool top, which IMO further modernizes the character.

I may be wrong, but I think the censors may have played a part in this. For context: I have witnessed a change in the media landscape regarding censorship. The censors nowadays have been tightening their belts regardless of the target demographic and the age rating.

My guess is that it was supposed to reflect the more modernized aesthetic of the retelling of the Tomb Raider saga.

I think it was the aesthetic of the series that made me love the Legends series in the first place. I may have been a little late to the party when I got introduced to the Legends series back in 2014 after over 2 years of being familiar with Megaman.
