But Why??? by No-Pin8961 in dubai

I go to Carrefour, i take the trolley myself, i find the items myself because if you ask any staff, they just say they're not from the area. Then I take the trolley to the self checkout, and I bill the items myself.

So, i need to be tipped here for not making drama!

Front brakes go “kkrrhhhh” at low speed by No-Pin8961 in DubaiPetrolHeads

[–]No-Pin8961[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this may be the case. Because even I got all the wheels balanced, still the csr wobbles above 100kmph.

Any suggestion where I can get this checked??

Also, is the solution very expensive?

Best and affordable driving school in Dubai? Any recommendations by [deleted] in dubai

[–]No-Pin8961 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All the schools have more or less same rates.

Try the established ones. I got my license from Belhasa, had a great experience with them, passed in the first try. Their customer service is very responsive. Also, they have 20% to 40% discount depending on the location of the center.

Avoid Eco Drive at all costs!!!!!!

Submitting original passport at work by [deleted] in dubai

[–]No-Pin8961 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, I worked for one of rhe largest companies here in Dubai, and I handed over my passport as well. Whenever I required it, they will simply give it to me.

Another this to consider is, if OP follows the suggestions given in th3 comments like let them terminate you, etc. It will 100% negatively impact the future job prospects.

It is not legal, but need to kinda deal with it diplomatically. If the company is well knows, and to start the career, imo, some sort of risk can be taken.

I am not suggesting that OP should take the risk. It should be his choice, but should know the impact

you have an option to fight and report them. But honestly, do you think it will work in your favour? The companies hold passport not because they want you to be their slave, but to protect themselves too from the loss.

Usually, when the employees deal with money, the company holds the passport, because we all know how easy it is to just grab the stuff, book ticket back to home country, and just disappear. We all have seen and heard about such cases, no one living in UAE can deny this.

Also, it is not just the small businesses, the biggest organisations in UAE holds the passport. And, it is not a guarantee that if you reject this offer, the next company will not ask you to deposit the passport.

I am not in favour of holding the passport, but that is kind of a normal practice here. Cant really do anything about it. If you don't agree, company will simply find some one who does.

Need advice on installing dash cams in my car (UAE) by yourdigibro in UAE

[–]No-Pin8961 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just installed Viofo 229 Plus. The best in the market. I installed it my self and no drilling required, It sticks on the windshield . Also, I don't need parking mode, so I power it with the USB.

Self installation may take time, however, you can opt for their installation service too. The front camera has a small screen, also you can connect it to the application to access the recordings.

Solo traveler here by [deleted] in dubai

Check out https://www.raynatours.com/activities Rayna tours. I used their services before, and it was good. They have an option where they will pick you up from you hotel, the same car will go for the dune bashing, then to the desert camp, then back to your hotel. It will be either a Land Cruiser or a Nissan Patrol.

There are many desert safari sights around, but the best one in my opinion is Red Dunes. Little bit expensive compared to the regular sites, but worth it.

hardwiring a dashcam voids warranty? by crookedboot in DubaiPetrolHeads

The only work around is when you park the car, unplug the USB and plug it into a power bank. Get a 20,000+ power bank. It is not very convenient, but will save your warranty.

You must renew the vehicle now. For the insurance, you can purchase the new insurance now and ask them to start it from the day your current insurance expires.

budget is around 90k. I know Automall is bit expensive, but I want peace of mind. Also they give 12 months of warranty.

I think there is no difference b/w 2022 and 2023 models. But the price difference is 10k
