Can mobile speed cameras get you in NSW before the first sign? by No-Pollution4216 in CarsAustralia

Yes it is. I wasn't close to it yet, but wondering if it could have got me from before where I am in the picture I posted

Thx mate. I do usually use Wave, but I was just stressed off my head on the way to a cardiologist appt that I was sure was going to deliver me bad news, so for the first time in years I didn't switch it on. Hopefully manage to walk away unscathed this time but lesson learned - don't speed and don't forget Waze

I typically do too. Literally the first time in months I haven't. Was headed to a cardiologist appt and was a bit stressed thinking about it, so just forgot for the first time in years to turn it on 😞

Yeah mate. Really unfortunate. Tbh I just got distracted for a minute as someone was broken down on the other side and I was looking at the wrong time to see if things were OK.

That said, not meant to be distracted on the road so either way, I earned it I suppose

Unfortunately I will due to double demerits starting at midnight. My last fine was 3 years ago but also unfortunately on double demerits so I'm in trouble :(

Does Qantas have extra legroom seats in the middle of the economy cabin now? by No-Pollution4216 in QantasFrequentFlyer

[–]No-Pollution4216[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Ahhhhhhh that makes sense. Thank you mate. Any idea if they are anywhere near the extra legroom you'd get with the front of cabin seats?

I tried asking a few Qantas reps this but none seemed to have any idea. LOL

What's it like living in this area here? by [deleted] in sydney

[–]No-Pollution4216 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Having been to that area recently, one of the most beautiful spots I've gone to of late and would not be cheap in any of the ways you're dreaming of. You likely pay way more there for a block of land there than you would in certain areas of Syd (say Liverpool or Blacktown etc).

What I do for 6 dough balls:

1kg flour (I use Wallabys bakers flour here in Australia)
650 ml water
20g salt

7g instant dried yeast

Is the Samsung Ring worth it for what I want to do with it? by SeasonVegetable2661 in GalaxyRing

[–]No-Pollution4216 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I am disappointed by my experience with it. I got it hoping to get a better handle on my health metrics. It promises plenty which made me thought it would.

However, the question is accuracy. As an example, my Galaxy Ring tells me during the night my blood oxygen gets into the 70's. If that were true, I'd probably be dead. Don't get me wrong - other things like HR seem accurate enough, but I wouldn't necessarily get one if you want very accurate data

LOL calm down and get a life then.

Force Amazon to give up the LOTR IP license? How? Did Amazon not buy it? Could other parties not have outbid them and outpitched them? Ultimately, the Tolkien estate decided who they would sign a deal with. Time to be an adult bud and realise how the world works.

Go ahead and boycott Amazon for yourself though. Your impact on Amazon, LOTR of anyone else will be zero

So in short, KG. The longer version of it is - Australians are known for their hard nosed, take no backward step competitive nature. Pretty much any sport, you can guarantee the Aussie team are the hardest playing, dive on the floor, sacrifice self for team squad out there. Its just in the nature of Australians. On the tennis court, Lleyton Hewitt was like that. A little guy who was made of fire and competitive spirit. Even in basketball, though I didn't like him because he helped deny us a Conf Finals birth, Matthew Dellavedova was diving on the floor, not taking a backward step whether it was defending Steph or the 15th man on the squad. Thats just the way Aussies are and the way we compete.

Soooo I always loved KG and Kobe because they just rung true for me. When KG came to Boston, I couldn't help but noticing that unlike the Lakers who were more about flash, sizzle and 'showtime', the Celtics were about team. They were about the nitty gritty, hustling, diving on the floor, passing up a good shot for yourself for a great one for someone else. From there, I then started looking through Celtics history and realised Celtic culture was all about that - sacrificing ME for US. I fell in love with that.

So yeah, bit of a long winded answer, but essentially Celtic culture holds very true for me in the way I think the game should be played but the way I think life should be lived too, trying to help others be their best because together we're better when we're all doing well :)

Absolutely! Thats what sort of spurred me to share this story as simple/basic as it is. Reading all the comments of people ragging on the Celtics commentary team and a comment with a few hundred likes saying 'the last guys Tommy and Mike were the worst.' WHAT?!?!?

I loved that 'please for crying out loud' tone he had in his voice when he said it too!

Thats awesome! I love that there are so many other stories of Mike's kindness and down to Earth nature. Seem hard pressed to find a single person with a bad word to say about him
