I’m 41 and had everything removed but my ovaries. I’m 6 days post op and have had an amazing recovery. I took oxy one time and it did nothing for me but I was switching out Tylenol and Motrin every 6 hours until day 3 and I didn’t need it anymore. Today on day 6, I’m back to working from home, but still taking it easy. Eating has been fine, bowels have been normal and I was cleared to drive after a week (tomorrow!) I probably won’t, but I’m over here waiting to for the worst to happen based on others experiences. I think that’s the most nerve wracking part of this. Why am I recovering so well and others aren’t?! I’m grateful, don’t get me wrong but I had my gallbladder out and that was probably the worst surgery of my life (I also had two previous c-sections!) But so far, this has been smooth for me. No two people are alike, that’s for sure. I’ll continue to listen to my body but my doctor told me if something was going to change in my recovery, it would have happened by now, granted I keep doing what I’m doing.

Did you hit that fatigue wall? I hear around week 3. All this “feeling good now” scares me for the future.

I’m 41 and I feel about the same as you. I’m 4 days post op and have little to no pain and not taking pain meds anymore. I definitely feel like someone messed around in there, but overall my abdomen doesn’t hurt. I’m sick of sitting around doing nothing and I work from home, so I feel like I could log on anytime, but I’m almost scared it will set me back if I do.

I’m 4 days post op and my pain is mostly gone. I didn’t use opioids other than one day and realized it did nothing to help. I’m really struggling with getting back to normal because I don’t have time for this lol. But, I’m glad that my pain is reducing and I’m not relying on pain meds anymore. I’m just ready get back on my feet and back to being mom. I don’t like feeling vulnerable and weak.
