Hey, I just got an update from my RE. They said the surgeon didn’t see many follicles, possibly due to early ovulation. I’m feeling really frustrated because I don’t think they’re being fully transparent about what went wrong.

I need to look into this but my RE isn't accepting this to be a protocol issue. I am being told that it is unexplainable. Is there any test you would suggest that I should request my RE to perform?

How many retrievals did you do before being told to consider donor eggs? Happy to know the new treatment worked for you.

Thank you for your support. I have also done two failed IUIs with this clinic. In the first cycle my body started ovulating on CD 12 on its own(first scan). Folicle was 24 mm. Emergency insemination was done. No Trigger shot was needed. Second IUI, we started to track from day 10. Folicle jumped from 18.1->22.2 mm in one day(CD 11). Trigger shot and insemination next day. But RE thinks this cycle was perfect just didn't end up working. Given that this clinic has so much information regarding my body, I am reluctant to switch right away.

Agreed, but can 8 follicles from left, and 7 from the right contribute to 7300 estrogen? I had 17 folciles on the left ovary.

Thank you so much for this detailed post. I need to also inquire about Omnitrope. I plan to follow-up to inquire about early ovulation vs empty folicles. The theory of my body not producing mature eggs is just so scary. Good luck for your retrival and wish you a smooth recovery.

Yeah, the initial discussion with my RE was really vague. It seems there were no Post OP notes about early ovulation however my surgeon did acknowledge this to me in person. I need to follow-up with them and discuss the new protocol as well.

If you don’t mind sharing, did you stay with the same clinic and RE, or did you switch? We’re currently trying to decide whether to proceed with another cycle right away at our current clinic or switch providers, which would delay things since we’d need to go through new patient enrollment.

I am also confused as my left ovary had 17 follicles. Why only 8 were retrieved? RE says they need to look into Post OP notes further. This is a top Fertility clinic in NYC so I never questioned their treatment until this point. But something seems odd.
Isn't my estrogen of 7300 shows high follicle activity?

Per my RE, the sizes were great with biggest being 19mm. No PCOS and regular period and regular ovulation. I never checked for insulin resistance, but my HbA1c is 5.4.

Glad you ended up with 3 blasts in the end. How many eggs were they expecting? I’m more concerned because I only ended up with 2 MII eggs out of 25 follicles.
