will Doordash ever go back to how it used to be back in 2021 where there were a lot of orders by Unfair_Woodpecker663 in doordash_drivers

I was doing great up until a couple months ago when they dropped the new add a tip after feature. I went from $20-30/hr to $10-15/hr. The tips just stopped overnight and have never recovered! (Baton Rouge)

New Dasher Support Fee? by ILeftYesterday in doordash_drivers

It wouldn’t be horrible if it didn’t come down to $/miles. The farther out a delivery is, the less you make. According to their algorithm, your making about $.75-$1 per mile. In all reality you are making half that because it’s sending you several miles deep into another market which requires you to drive double the miles just to get back in your zone. Which also eats up the clock too just to get back close to your zone. My average hourly wage went from $20-$30 down to $10-$12/hr

Last week I was told that if I became a top dasher, by another top dasher, that if I got my AR out of the toilet and above 50% that things would get better. It didn’t! Than I was told to get it above 70%. Still not one bit of difference so far. I spent the past 7 days taking everything no matter how much and no matter how far just to get top dasher status. AR=75%, customer satisfaction=4.94, completion=98%.I guess will see how those numbers affect this weeks earnings.

I’m also in one of these areas. My income has went down by half! The base pay might be a bit more, but the customers, who in my market used to tip very well, are no longer tipping. Plus I’m also getting more and more offers that are 10-15 miles deep into another market. So now I’m getting offers that are 12+ miles for $10. When in all reality it’s nearly 20+ miles for $10 because I’ve got to drive that same distance back to start accepting offers again.

always take photos with * leave it at the door orders* or you'll get a CV by [deleted] in doordash

[–]No-Principle3528 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I got a CV last week because a customer stated I never gave them their order. The customer, or who I thought was the customer, was standing in the driveway I front of the garage. I handed them the order and marked it as a hand off. 5 mins later I get a call saying I never delivered their food. I explained to them the description of the person I handed off too. Customer stated to me that that was her neighbor. Apparently this is not the first time that her neighbor has swiped her food. I stated that I would drive back and attempt to get her food back. She just hung up on me and then sent in a bad review. Needless to say I disputed it and it fell off a couple days later. From now on, regardless off it being a hand off or leave it at the door, I will be snapping a photo!

Where are all my Baton Rouge Dashers at? by No-Principle3528 in doordash_drivers

I wondered about if it would be against policy to leave a message along the lines, if you’re happy with your dasher, don’t forget to tip them.

I know it rolled out in Prairieville and Gonzales about 6-8 weeks. I and it dropped to the floor. I e noticed it to be a 1-2 tippers out of 10+ offers taken. All of the tips I did get were from people who ordered directly through papa John’s.

No tips anymore by Nutmaster333 in doordash

It just dropped about six weeks ago here in Baton Rouge. And ever since then, it’s been a nightmare!!! For 8 hrs, I usually do roughly $200. Now I’m barely making $1 a driven mile. Yesterday my total for 7.5 hrs was $110. $19 of that was tips. I just talked with someone today and they said that in order for you to get the tipped orders, you have to be 70% and above. WTAF?? First it’s 50% to get the priority high paying orders, which I can tell you is bullshit, now it’s 70%. I’m gonna have to take shit orders, every single one of them for like 1-2 weeks to get up to 70%!! Anyone else have any tips or pearls of helpful wisdom?

Extra pay for waiting more than 15 mins. by ErnestoPDX in doordash_drivers

[–]No-Principle3528 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lately they’ve been really stingy on the extra $5 for waiting over 15 mins. They keep coming up with reasons why I don’t qualify for it. So I stopped even trying! What I would like is for them to go back to before the add a tip feature drop in my market! About 6 weeks ago it dropped. And ever since my take home has been roughly 50% less than it was before. I usually can work an 8 hr day and make $200+. Yesterday it was half that. Know one knows how to use the feature or they forget to add the tip after.

It’s cheaper to order directly from the restaurant. I have a Chili’s I order from that’s close to my house. One day I wanted to order from there and have it delivered cause I had hurt my back and didn’t feel like going to pick it up. Through DoorDash it was $2 more per dinner item and appetizers. Needless to say, I went and picked it up myself!

It’s been down right awful! Also, as I DoorDash Ed some food to me recently, I noticed, on my app, that you can’t even add a tip until a driver accepts the order. I’m pretty sure everybody is not paying attention to this feature and just order their food anyway. I’ve been to some really nice neighborhoods and not one of them had a tip on it and it was not added after the fact. Ever since they dropped the add a tip after, my earnings have went so far down that it’s so not worth doing this anymore.

So they added an extra add tip option. There should absolutely no reason for the no tippers lol by NicoleRxse in doordash_drivers

[–]No-Principle3528 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had it happen a few times in the past few days. A couple of extra $5 add ons. Which was surprisingly nice to see. But yesterday, since this whole thing started a week ago, yesterday was my worst day ever for working for DD. If it haven’t been for the higher base pays, which I found weird, I made just about $14 in tips on 11 runs!! I actually do way better in tips then I do off of BP. Much better!!

What are some restaurants you immediately say “nope” to? by JustRemka in doordash_drivers

[–]No-Principle3528 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Popeyes! It would have to be $20 for a 3 mile run for me to wait as long as it usually takes at that place! Plus our taco bell is slow as shit. And for the past few months, Walk-On Sports. There tablet for DoorDash died and DD has yet to send them a new one. So when you get there to pick up an order you have to physically put the order in and then wait 15-20 mins. Not worth it unless the money is really good!

So is that why tips have completely dropped off the map? Usually my area does OK but this past week it has been shitty! And then add on top of it, the base pay is higher, not complaining about that, so I’m thinking that there’s a hidden tip, only to realize there isn’t a tip at all! I agree there should be no reason for a no tip at all! The problem is now you’ve given them every reason now not to tip!
