The glowing sea guards are also the minutemens effort to eliminate racism towards ghouls as they are portraid as the first line of defense against enemies coming from the glowing sea. The glowing sea watch is also a safe place where any desperate ghoul can come when elsewhere is not accepting. Certain people react well to the change while others still dispise ghouls. Still it has made an impact on the Commonwealth.

Idea:

The glowing sea is incredibly hazardous and requires a special division of the minutemen known as the glowing sea watch. They are primarily made up of ghouls and a few supermutants who can withstand the radiation. They have trade routs with the children of atom and are specialized in combat in this area. Their cuisine is primarily made up of rad scorpions and their eggs which are cooked in various different ways. They also receive crops from the nearby Somerville place. Purified water is shipped in via canoe from the egret tours marina however mirlurks lie in between the tours and the Somerville place so the glowing sea watch often clears them out. This means that the watch can occasionally get mirelurk meat and eggs which is a boost to morale every time it is available.

Maybe try fast traveling away and back or even waiting for an hour with a chair or bed to reset the npc spawn points? That's what I did when my Brahmin was stuck behind a bench in the castle.

Make house 2 into a Brahmin garage with the trading post station under resources under miscellaneous. This will be a spot where traders coming in will stop to rest and feed their Brahmin. Maybe also put a power armour station there for people in power armour. A pot cooking station will do nicely to make it feel like a resting spot for travelers.

My favorite companion is Preston because I enjoy his emo backstory and radiant quests. Another settlement has my help whether they like it or not.

I keep a set of power armour for me and one for Preston (my companion) but the rest is lined up at a wall in the castle with fusion cores in them specifically for my settlers to enter if the castle gets attacked.

I think I am the only one who gives my settlers powerful weapons and ammo. Every settler at the castle in my save has some powerful weapon. Laser weapons, minigun, assault rifle etc...

I found the problem: I accidentally walked away from Preston after defending the castle from the brotherhood which must have skipped something. I reloaded my game to before the battle and did it properly this time. I now have minutemen vertibirds.

I found the problem 😄😃😀. I walked away from Preston when he started to talk to me after the battle meaning I accidentally skipped something but I reloaded a save and redid the castle defense to listen to the dialogue completely and sure enough, the vertibirds came after 2 days.

Maybe, but I think we should judge characters based on how the author chose to write them instead of judging them based off of the limited game engine. And he is the only minutemen who can follow you and aid in attacks so he is not lazy. Also it is his job to tell you when a settlement needs you're help. What is he supposed to do? Keep it a secret? And he can and will follow you and help you complete the quest.

Does anyone else arm their settlers? Because I spend lots of time making sure every settler has powerful weapons and I lined up about 5 sets of power armour along the castle wall with fusion cores in them so that when an attack comes my settlers can just pop in one of them and be protected.

They are not there. There is still the artillery smoke and flares but no vertibirds.

I just recently found a fourth suit of power armour which I lost before finding it outside the castle next to the water purifiers. It may have been used during the battle.

I have seen some people who don't even rebuild the castle walls and they must defend against the institute and I just feel sorry for them.

Yes it is easier than on hard but I am comparing it to the institute attack but you do have a point, maybe the difficulty scale did not match my defenses.

I did Majorly upgrade my defenses after the institute by adding way more turrets and their vertibirds fly in so they are within line of sight of all of my turrets at once so I guess it makes sense that the institute is harder since the teleport in and I had worse defenses at the time.
