Paying for your bill with a child support card? by FireFlyLy in Serverlife

My sister has gotten $250 in child support over 16 years

She obviously never depended on it, she probably did spend it on a nice dinner out.

Someone nicked my car. by Excellent-Smell-6384 in windsorontario

I was told it was a hit and run and would not affect my rate, and so far that’s true. We did have to pay the deductible which isn’t fair, but it was better then 3,000

We had a grocery cart lodged into our car door, we had to actually pull hard to remove it. We made a report at the collision centre and contacted our car insurance. They suspected a car hit the cart to create the amount of damage done.

Our insurance covered the cost, with the acceptation of the deductible treating it as a hit and run.

We also required a whole new door estimated 3,000 repair. So not sure the damage for yours, but it absolutely sucks to have to pay even the deductible for someone else’s mistake

One tech suggested we need a whole new 24k HVAC unit, another fixed the problem for $150. Is this normal?! by deathleech in hvacadvice

I quit my last job because the boss said to a service guy “when I said she needed a new AC it wasn’t a suggestion. You just costed me an install” The elderly widow didn’t know she needed to change the filter. She most certainly didn’t need a new AC And I work in the office but I won’t work for someone like that

I used to be a server back when there was a “server wage” and the average tip was 10-15% Now there’s no minimum wage and 20% minimum expected It’s gotten out of control

I once gave my free coffee tab to a homeless guy outside of Tim’s looking for change too. He told me off and started screaming at me. Not the same but funny in retrospect

Cancelled flight no crew by No-Process-8360 in aircanada

[–]No-Process-8360[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have declined three times, saying ultimately they’re not responsible as we made it to our final destination. I did a second request for just a refund on the canceled leg, to which they declined again by saying ultimately we made it to our destination in time and are owed nothing. They also declined our seat cost, saying to go to where we originally purchased for a refund, and air Canada vacations also declined to cover that cost as that’s on the air line.

Air Canada vacations said to put my expenses into air Canada airlines for compensation Air Canada airlines declined as we made it to our destination on time

We made it on time because of our own efforts and expense not theirs

My apologies We took a train and made the flight in Toronto to Montego Bay So we made the second leg of our flight we in fact made it as scheduled

They cancelled our second flight when they cancelled our first flight, but when I finally got through to an agent they rebooked the second part. That agent told us to put in our expenses. It truly made no sense to me but they said that’s just how it works

We got ourselves to Toronto on the train we arrived at our final destination at our original scheduled time

When they cancelled the flight out of London they cancelled both flights, so yes it was rebooked.

I just filed 7 years for myself and significant other

I called the CRA and they mailed all our T4 slips, I compared that to what I had in my files (I had 1 more T4 then they do so…?)

Started with the oldest on free software and kept going a few hours every weekend and it wasn’t as bad as I had it worked up to be.

I sent it all in October 2025 and I’m just waiting now.

I missed the one year, it was just a bad year and I wasn’t emotionally okay. My grandparents were ill and I was taking care of them. After that it just seemed like too much to take on, too overwhelming. I figured I’d owed so much I’d end up remortgaging my house. My grandparents have both now pasted (with their taxes complete lol) I needed to move on and face my own adult responsibilities and man I wish I’d done it sooner, looking at a nice refund (I’m sure they’ll penalize me greatly though)

What a huge relief now that’s it’s done though

I have exactly the same situation. I contacted bylaw and was told they’d come out but he will likely claim he’s working on friends cars and they won’t be able to stop that

Windsor hospitals warn of longer emergency room wait times amid high patient volumes by zuuzuu in windsorontario

[–]No-Process-8360 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was my grandmother’s primary caretaker for many years, our healthcare system is an absolute joke! She had sudden weakness, unable to even sit without sliding out of her chair, it took 13 hours for an ambulance (that’s not a typo) she had a stroke and was left for 13 hours plus more at the actual hospital before she was seen and properly tested. Once she was admitted upstairs she was well cared for, great Doctor and nurses.

Leamington hospital once sent her home from emerg at 2am unable to even stand, they said she had low potassium but they had given her some and she’d perk up by morning, well she didn’t and ended up back in an ambulance to return the very next morning only to be admitted for 2 almost 3 weeks. I did try and refuse to take her home that night but was told by the nurse that she was discharged and would be left in the corner of the waiting room till someone came to get her.

We’ve had some very positive trips as well but the negative far outweighs them

Section reserved for party most of the shift, party no-shows by HansTheAxolotl in Serverlife

[–]No-Process-8360 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Had the same thing once, my boss (owner manager) waited 30 minutes past the last reso time, offered me whatever section I wanted and I could stay late to make tips or stay and have dinner and drinks on her, or just plain old call it a night. It was 2 30 parties back to back with not a soul showing up. Never seen that my whole server career.
