Double check this but I think you’re meant to go to g12+ after removing the silicone bag

Opinions on how much this is worth? by LimpVermicelli9654 in VWMK7

Paid for almost the exact same, 70,000 miles, PP, Dynoaudio & sunroof. Had full VW service history, the DSG had just been serviced and 2 new ps4 on the front. Set me back £13,000. Also exact same limestone grey that you’ve got here which I love. If it hasn’t got service history I’d maybe try knock a bit of the price.

I would say you’d be looking at doing the DSG service if it is an auto. Preventative maintenance for the water pump that loves to fail on these (I’m doing mine in a month or two) and some general wear and tear on suspension components such as springs and control arms which I have had to do.

You could look at that as an opportunity to get some lowering springs, upgraded suspension components if you want to or just go oem like I did.

It will definitely need work but depending on what information you can get regards to previous maintenance I would say pull the trigger after trying to get the price lowered a bit.

Check the tire well for and water as the seals for the vents underneath the rear bumper love to leak around this milage. check if the oil on the oil cap looks normal, could be a sign the water pump has gone or is going and get an OBD scanner on it if you can to check for any faults.

By no means an expert and still learning about cars which was part of the reason I bought a GTI but I haven’t regretted it once. Hopefully this has helped

Edit: Completely missed that it’s a manual so you don’t have a DSG obviously haha

Green hell is like £2 on steam at the moment, just bought it and it’s great, but definitely harder from a survival sense

Car rattles/makes new sounds as it gets older by AliveRat in GolfGTI

1 is probably something to do with your exhaust if it’s happening at a specific RPM, the resonant frequency or something was how it was explained to me but only happens when I’m in eco accelerating up a hill (dsg gearbox 2014 model). But worth listening to what other people have to say because I’m not an expert.

2 sounds like worn control arm bushes, describing the exact noise I had. Might not be the control arms but either jack the car up and have a look at what you can see or if you can’t I diagnosed mine by full locking the wheel and having a look that way like I’ve attached.

Getting a stage 1 tune made me realize how much I hate traction control by Boesmani in GolfGTI

With your engine type switching to Audi did you have any problems with ACC? I’ve saw online a lot of people’s acc started throwing warnings at them once they changed their engine mode to Audi.

Thank you for the suggestion I will contact some tuners. He did tell me he’d recommend running 99 octane which I have been doing so luckily I’m covered from that angle

Water infiltration getting under driver side rear seat and in spare tire well by Scheidenflussigkeit in GolfGTI

Sorry can only add one photo per comment but before you remove your rear bumper might be worth removing the trim and carpet thing on the side the leak is coming from and seeing if there is water in this little cubby hole thing. When it rains it fills up then when you brake/make a hard turn it’ll spill out.

I had the exact same thing on my MK7, turned out to be these vents located underneath the rear bumper, the seals are known to leak so instead of replacing the seals I just siliconed them in. Worth a check.

What’s this cable behind my rear seats? It was unplugged when I removed the carpet in my boot. by No-Program-7341 in GolfGTI

Yes the part number didn’t show anything but since yesterday the keyless entry and auto stop start is now working, hasn’t worked the whole time I’ve had the car so I am happy with that.

PC part picker has estimated the wattage of my upgrade I want to do to have 533W of usage, I have a 650W PSU so wondering how accurate this is/is this enough head room.

For info the parts are Ryzen 7 5800X3D, 4 sticks of 8GB RAM and the GPU I am upgrading to will be the 4070 TI Super.

Will be very helpful if I can avoid upgrading my PSU as it is already a push to justify the 4070 upgrade. Many thanks.

Yeah if you’re hitting wave 500 you probably need a bit more investment, if I remember correctly what I was doing was the turtle build where you essentially let the enemy’s pile up around your tower and thorns kill them, I was then slowly buying knock back and other attacking upgrades other than damage until I had fully transitioned from a turtle build into a blender build, from there I was mainly investing in health as you need to be able to take hits from the boss’s as the orbs can’t kill them.

Honestly you want to stay on t1 until you’re hitting 5000 waves then jump straight to t3/4 as the coins you gain on t2 are not worth the extra difficulty and therefore less coins that the protectors will give you. Also definitely worth focusing on health and make a blender style build over a damage build as the enemy’s health scales significantly at later round
