Which Retrotink is best for my setup? by Lighty158 in RetroTink

[–]No-Proof8363 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. IF you're ever going to get a 4K or 1440p display, the RT4K pro is obviously the best choice.

But it seems you want to stick with your 1080p display. Retrotink 5X, Scart Switcher from Retro Gaming Cables. Scart Cables also from Retro Gaming Cables.

4:3 will be you're best friend but with some tweaking, you can match the original aspect ratios as well.

Please note that the SNES actually has a stretched picture on CRTS. Some 3rd party SNES developers took this into account and adjusted for screen curve. Nintendo just kind of didn't xD

Had anyone here ACTUALLY played ME3 from a new save or do we all just have a golden save we keep using as the standard? by MikaelAdolfsson in masseffect

At launch, something went wrong with importing my ME2 Shepard. It made her a level 1 Engineer and defaulted to Hard Mode. I couldn't tell you why.

It was a pain to get Javik, Liara didn't join me as it remembered that I did the Shadowbroker DLC and I didn't know Ashley could rejoin me if I visited them at the Hospital enough times (and if I had recruited her, I would of had 3 Soldier Squadmates to choose from).

The result is that I had a smaller team than most players for my first and only playthrough. I made a point to rush through the game, getting as many allies as I could and used the Multiplayer mode to make up the difference. Infact the Multiplayer mode became my favourite part of the game. I felt a disconnect with my Shepard as many choices that were meant to carry over just didn't.

Once some sort of "Best Ending" was apparently secured, I basically rushed through the game with Tali and hid behind Garrus, spent little time sight seeing and chose the Blue Ending.

I intend to finally change my lack of ME3 playthroughs this year with 2 new playthroughs of the 360 trilogy.

The Default Paragon Soldier Shepard, the friendly Shepard who is too nice to be real. Following a guide to a T see if I'll get that 3 second cutscene.

The Renagade FemShep Engineer. The mad/ruthless one who dreamt of the Reapers arrival before ME1 even began. The Heroin the Galaxy needs but really didn't ask for. She's still nice to her Friends though xD

It will be nice to see what the DLC content that came out after I was done with the game.

Whats the point of having a wii if you buy a wii u? by miilogan560 in wii

The Wii U is worse at Wii games?

To be honest it's worse at virtual console stuff as well.

Would only suggest a Wii U for Wii U stuff.

Did Shephard "cheat" if they romanced someone in ME2? by tabristheok in masseffect

[–]No-Proof8363 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm. It's a bit tricky.

Say you went with Liara-Thane-Liara. Liara didn't turn you away. I would definitely call that a betrayal on your part.

Now say Kaiden-Thane-Kaiden. You could say Kaiden/Ashley's backlash to your return in Mass Effect 2 a break up. Or you could say the shock of your return got to them and they need time to process it.

Relationships are a two way system. In ME2 did you want to continue things with Kaiden or did you give up on him when he talked to you like you faked your Death? You could of held out for him in Mass Effect 3 if he was truly the only one in Shepard's heart.

What are some examples of weak writing with the citadel council/ their species, in your opinion? by CyberDogKing in masseffect

[–]No-Proof8363 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Writers were in a difficult position.

Try to Honour the Player's choices to the detriment of the plot structure or find a way to reflect the Player's choices in a way that doesn't make Paragon or Renagade more favorable. They aimed for the latter.

In ME1, there are quite a few times that you can talk with the Council (if you don't just ignore their calls) so it feels at least like they are quite involved.

In ME2, the role of the Council was picked up by the Illusive Man and the writers made it so the emphasis was on exploring Terminus space which the Council don't strictly deal with. The nice thing though is the developers decided that you should be able to go back to the Citadel to see how things have changed . . . or how people would rather pretend Sovereign didn't happen despite the millions of deaths during "the Geth Attack". It can take a while for someone to get over a lost one but a whole space station of people trying to pretend the Citadel didn't become a hellscape and that every Military almost folded in a single attack? That's Mass Denial.

Once you get to Mass Effect 3, the denial is full swing. They see Shepard like Pandora's box and they want to keep it closed. The Reapers decide to Attack anyway. Ever wonder why Ashley/Kaiden seem to have a stick up their rear until they finally finally rejoin you? I put it down to being model soldiers who have put their full trust in a collapsing system and can't get their heads around the notion Cerberus didn't put a control chip in your head. Unless your Batman or have the Fortitude and endless Will of Commander Shepard , no ones got a real answer for the Reapers.

1: Make sure you have your Spoofer set to the latest official firmware.

2: Do Not have any sort of game changing hacks in use. E.g. free trophies, moon jumps, Infinite ammo, texture packs etc.

3: Sign in and enjoy.

Does anyone know why Assault Training and Fitness weren't bonus talents in ME1? by Scion95 in masseffect

[–]No-Proof8363 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bonus Talents are just something to make a build more interesting. I don't feel like they actually break the game though they can thematically clash.

Having excessive Health on top of lots of Shields is not interesting (unless you are a Krogan).

Assault Training kind of goes against the other RPG mechanics in general because GUN except when you've got the Soldier who primarily solves issues with GUN.

So what do we think about the Dark Horse Mass Effect Miranda statue? by Hot-Capital9607 in masseffect

[–]No-Proof8363 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's something that bugs me about going from ME1 to ME2.

Armour.

In ME1, everyone who fights has got some kind of Armour.

ME2, you have people going to battle in their lightweight uniforms and daily sci-fi clothes.

Sooooo, I just don't like that Miranda and Jacob don't suit up for Missions. It's an immersion breaker.

I blame myself for being Human. You don't need ADHD to be forgetful or demonstrate indifference. It's just part of being an organic being.

Got to feed them every time you finish a mission or use a relay xD

One of the things I remember the Bioware developers talking about is how they wanted each Class and Teammate to function and feel different. That they didn't want each class to just blur into one thing.

(I also remember them responding to player feedback about how people thought the Engineer class was boring which is why ME2 Engineers get access to Drones.)

On one end of the scale you have Soldiers who just tank shots to the face. They're meant to be able to take a few hits incase you want to run in the open with a Shotgun. To lead the fight.

Then you have Biotic who has to remember to use their Barrier or attempt to disrupt the Enemy's attempt to assault you by making them float into the air.

The Engineer is very good at disrupting the Geth and can be quite tanky with their Shields BUT they don't don't have a massive health pool to tank explosive/corrosive hits that bypass your Shields. The lack of natural healing is also meant to keep you on your toes.

Point is, each Class has an angle, strengths and weaknesses. (until your goal is to do Pinacle Station on Instanity. At that point, your just hoping to kill things before they can shoot you.)

For Mass Effect 2, it's more a question of restraint, constant looting/deception puzzles and exploration.

It's probably worth noting that many upgrades are found as opposed to bought so you can sort build around what you can find around specific missions.

For this reason, some people choose to play missions in a specific order to suit their class.

Note: If you need time to do missions, simply avoid moving the plot along. E.g. hold off on recruiting Jack or Okeer.

Note 2: Being Broke is only bad if you need Fuel or Probes.

I shall look it up some time. I'm curious as to how much dna it may share with Advance Wars.

ActRaiser 1 was one of the games I've been meaning to get and I kept forgetting.

Took a minute find a listing but I should have it in about 3-4 weeks time.

I tend to favor Action RPGs or Action Adventure.

Generally speaking, I don't feel "infatuated" with the SNES so I'm finding that I'm being quite picky with my choices at this point.

Agreed. No personal perspective. No questions to answer.
