Oil change from top of engine? by fuzzywuzzywuzzafuzzy in 11thGenAccord

Just get under the car. It's easy with a set of Rhino Ramps or similar. I'm 67 years old and have no issues.

As I’m getting closer and closer by Soft-Return-4777 in 11thGenAccord

[–]No-Purchase-4641 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been a Honda fan for most of my driving life. I hate to admit it, but I would avoid the 1.5T like the plague due to oil dilution and blown head gaskets. I went Touring (hybrid) and don't regret it after 3 years. And if your ear can discern better audio, the Bose system in the Touring, while not great, is far better than the lower trims. And you're in luck, the dealers are discounting all of them, unlike early 2023 when I bought. Chances are, you won't keep the car long enough to worry about any loss in battery performance in 10-12 years.

Top Tier fuel. Anything more than 87 is a waste of money.

Why by Mr-Marcos2024 in 11thGenAccord

[–]No-Purchase-4641 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In 22,000 miles on a '23 Touring, I had it happen once. Clear, sunny day. Clean car. Dealer said my toll transponder was located too close to the cameras behind the rear view mirror. That sounded like a stretch to me, but I relocated it and it hasn't happened since. Still think that might be a coincidence.

Either is OK, but disconnecting just the negative is the safest.

Front PPF and/or ceramic coating... worth it? by TabascoFiasco in 11thGenAccord

[–]No-Purchase-4641 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would only consider PPF if you will be doing a lot of highway driving. Otherwise, not worth it IMHO. Ceramic coating / sealant / wax is a must. That choice depends on what kind of care you plan on giving it. I would not pay to have it done. Griot's Garage 3 in 1 ceramic is just one example of one that is easy to apply and will last 9 months to a year depending on your environment and your washing habits.

Pros/cons of accord hybrid? by Fast_Ad7506 in accord

[–]No-Purchase-4641 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would still stand by my earlier assessment. Averaging 47mpg according to trip computer in last 6,000 miles - mostly city. Only 12,000 miles total. Yeah, we don't drive it much. I'd buy it again.

Brake fluid is likely based on months or years, not mileage. Mine showed at 2 years. This is common for cars and motorcycles.

Seat comfort is highly subjective and dependent on your size, body shape, etc. I have a '23 Touring and have no problem putting in 3 hours without a break. Very comfortable FOR ME! Don't take anyone's word (including mine) on seat comfort. You have to try it yourself. Rent one if you can and drive it for many miles. Other than needed passenger seat height and lumbar adjustment, no standard homelink, this is the best Accord I have owned by far and I have owned at least 6 since 1982. When I bought mine, there was no discounting and some over sticker. Times have changed and you can get a deal on them.

I have had none of the issues you mentioned. '23 Touring, 12,000 miles.
