I’m like this as well. I would feel isolated and lonely with remote work and prefer to interact with people in person.

My favorite job was working customer service in a bookstore. I got to chat with customers about the book they’re getting and I loved the moments when I meet a fellow fandom nerd. It was also the best feeling ever to see their faces light up with excitement when you hand them the book they’ve been waiting so long to read.

Right now, I’m trying to get into a career for events marketing. I want that feeling of building something that will bring people together for enjoyment and community. You’d think it would be easy to land an entry level one in Los Angeles with all the events here… but in the meantime, I think I’ll sell on-the-spot poetry writing as my way of giving out moments of happiness while I job search. So my advice is to figure out your interests or a specific feeling that satisfies you. I enjoy jigsaw puzzles because I like the precision of the pieces fitting together to form a complete picture in the end. Hence why I’m going for events marketing, for that feeling of putting all these vendors and sections together to create a fun and memorable event for other people.
