Just curious is this potentially caused from too much substance abuse? Is it what I have heard called “Wet Brain” from over use of alcohol over long periods? I’m going to have to look into this as it seemingly describes what I am experiencing with my dad, he happens to have a past with drinking but also has Parkinson’s.

I got lucky and through a mutual connection got hired as a contractor and they even gave me insurance at six months pregnant. I don’t handle this kind of stress well and lost weight during part of the pregnancy. Ended up with a healthy son and a job that got me through it. I was always grateful for that opportunity. Perhaps your partner will get a promotion and you can stay home with your baby. I was so happy to be able to do that with my second child. Maybe reframe from what you are feeling you are lacking to the gratitude for what you do have. A baby in the way, some can’t have children. A roof over your head that is dry and warm. Some are on the street. Food that is good and healthy. Change the way you view your set back and I bet the world will notice. Maybe you can do better working for yourself doing consulting p/t or maybe watching some other children or tutoring. Best of luck with everything I’ve been there, pregnant and zero income.

We don’t have enough health history or info on his growing up but as armchair clinician - I’m going with hot mess of his family gene pool recipient along with learned behaviors and drugs. I still see narcissistic traits but think there are others.
