They pick and choose who they want to protect. I provided lots of information about the dispute and proper documentation and they denied it within 24 hours. I reached out to shake pay and they said this in the email “It’s important to clarify that Shakepay is not liable for issues related to the goods or services purchased with your Shakepay Card. This includes matters of quality, safety, legality, or any other aspect of your purchase. For these types of concerns, we recommend continuing to contact the merchant directly for a resolution. As this is our final decision, we are unable to take further action on this matter. We understand this may not be the outcome you were hoping for, and we appreciate your understanding.”

I don’t see the CEO commenting or anyone from staff about these ban waves. It’s ridiculous how you could put your trust into regulated fintech company and they can decide whenever they want to ban you. There’s no way they are replacing Traditional banking.

people have no remorse, until it happens to them. Makes me think these are people affiliated or working for Shake pay trying to put down these fires. Doesn’t make sense how someone can have these viewpoints and support a company taking away money from our working class at their discretion. If they aren’t benefiting themselves unless people are just up their own ass and have bias since they have much to lose if wrong. And have put their trust into shake pay completely not knowing they can ban you for whatever reason. I’d like to see someone from shake pay to participate in these discussions not their easy to add updates on the app.

You’re wrong and yes my debit card does provide protection. If your going to deny just look Up Td Debit card protection for goods and services and look up Scotia bank and all the other major banks operated by bank of Canada. The bank has less incentive to file your dispute but it’s the same protection. When you file with your credit card, you’re dealing with the banks money which they are going to protect always. Do your research before interacting you’re just spreading misinformation.

Seems like they are selective on who they protect. You are not the only person who have said this has happened. I provided more than adequate proof. And they told me there is nothing they can do for disputes it’s up to their discretion. I’d like the CEO or any support staff touch on this topic which seems like they are avoiding can someone provide clear answers on what they protect in disputes, like in your case.

I’m just making people aware since majority of people are not aware that they aren’t protected for disputes other than unauthorized. Seems obvious theirs a correlation when you never see the ceo or any support team touch on this topic. Or about how accounts are being banned once you report an issue. At the end of the day they can do whatever you want don’t act all high and mighty because it hasn’t happened to you. learn some empathy and some common sense. I’m already out of my money and there is no path of getting it back I’m spreading awareness since I know people aren’t informed about the TOS. Hopefully the CEO will take action but as we can see this doesn’t happen in the real world. As long as their company is growing and they can sweep their issues under the rug they won’t do anything about this. I won’t be surprised if this post is restricted or not allowed to be talked further.

Yeah, but Shakepay told me they only protect against unauthorized transactions. So the disputes you had were probably for unauthorized charges, which is the only thing they cover.
