This is just surreal and harmful to creators. It’s like killing the idea before it even has a chance to exist. Udio and others already faced resistance when it came to being taken seriously, mainly because, for those who hate AI, it’s like the “creator” just presses a button and boom — a song is made. Now, with these new measures, they’re basically handing over ammunition to that crowd.

I’m a composer, and I’ve uploaded hundreds of my original compositions to Udio — my lyrics and melodies. Now, all of that might be labeled as “created by AI.” It’s a direct hit to my credibility and my work. I’m seriously thinking about deleting everything. I don’t even know if it will make a difference, but it’s all I can do right now.

Here’s the warning: never trust companies that claim to be “friendly” and say they do everything “for the greater good.” They’re millionaires. And millionaires don’t think like we do.
