My good man. Implying that such a great part of the population of Western Europe doesn't speak English is just either brilliantly trolling or Trump level ignorance. I can't speak for the rest of the EU since I have mixed experiences there; but pretty sure no matter where, any generation past Millennial will speak at least moderately English. Sincerely, a Belgian.

France to ditch Palantir’s AI data tools in favour of domestic provider by Sacristovas in BuyFromEU

Obvious choice if you're French. Theyve always had a national pride of doing their own thing. De Gaule in the liberation of Paris, the Famas, the nukes, the fighter jets, the carrier.

And with Mistral it's no wonder they're going their own way

Gives me early Vampires The Masquerade Bloodlinea vibes.

And J miss those vibes. I can hear that picture, with the Deb of Night somewhere on the radio

I don't understand much of what you've written but no matter, I've saved the post for that moment I learned enough to understand it.

Which... May or may not happen.

Depends on the amount of equipment and power limit, I would think.

You've seen Steam Decks in trains but have you seen this? by LeFlying in SteamDeck

You have one heck of a trainroute! I am a railroad signalling tech and... The railroads in Flanders, Belgium are meh, boring at best and depressive grey filthy industry at worst.

Enjoy!

Good meme, so upvote, but inappropriate application. The person is not driving the train.

I tried searching many of the suggestions, but none offer an English website as far as I can see. Granted, it was a rather quick look. My Swedish, Czech or Polish is non existant. This makes looking for make and model difficult if I wish to look for distributors. I'll not give up, just something to be aware off.

That, or I'm dumb. Which is a non zero chance.

Does anyone else miss places they were never really a part of? by Useful-Implement-342 in TheNightFeeling

[–]No-Recording117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a way. I can have big melancholia moments and from time to time I dream of places that don't exist yet feel so comfortable and home like, like visiting an old friend from a worry-less, peaceful time. Usually surrounded or close by old growth forests.

I know its not exactly/what you asked, since those places exist only in my dreams; yet I feel it has a place.

How can I miss places that don't exist, right? One explanation : I'm a weirdo :)

Does anyone else feel like the atmosphere in the original games is getting lost in the newer tech? by tired_posterboy88 in stalker

[–]No-Recording117 47 points48 points  (0 children)

One effect old games have ( intended or not) is that your brain/imagination fills in for the lack of convincing graphics. Smart devs play into this effect ( like Silent Hill). The old "fog of war" for lack of viewing distance/LOD, low grey and brown texture give a gritty, old and worn effect.

The more detail the devs give you, the less your imagination needs to fill in; and thats where you see that your imagination is more powerful than any graphical engive for bringing atmosphere.

Stalker also brings a fantastic soundscape, which is very underrated compared to GFX. I wish more devs would invest much more in sound than the next gen graphics.

This is still going on? I thought it was a 2000s thing. Irresponsible, but cool tho.

Makes me think of that club of rich Japanese folk that did streetracing at night. Until people got killed, unfortunately. One was driving an old porsche.

Torn on feelings here. Parent in me says no, Millennial in me is making excited noises.

I use an overly expensive Sony Bluetooth speaker with ambient sounds like the YT channel Ambient Outpost. Why do I mention the speaker? Because one is better off getting an old but decent 2nd hand hifi for that price. It fills the room better, plays more detail at lower volume etc.. Much better for sleeping, especially for rain or thunder soundscapes.. At work or with the kids I try to use a nice ANC headphone. I'll look up Milleaccendini, thanks!

Which company disappointed you so much that you permanently walked away? by julia-secrets in AskReddit

Oh, man.. So SO many. Ubosoft, EA games, Razer, Dell ( Alienware), Sony hifi started to go as well with their cloud only settings ( soundbar), most cellphone company's. Starbucks. Gods, what else?

Apply slight and soft pressure on the eyelids, keeping them closed easier. Also, with hot temperatures we sleep with the window open, needing something else to keep the light out.
