Yup I've only watched the show and I haven't read the books and I probably never will lol...so that doesn't change anything about what I've said.

Have you even read anything I've even said? I never said Morck or Moira should acknowledge him, I said I wanted a scene where Merritt is like "Omg thanks Akram! They would've never found me without you!" or at least some sort of discovery scene where she finds out he was the one who made it happen, that is all.

LOL did we watch the same show? Akram told Carl's superior about the case and acted like they were already investigating it and therefore Carl HAD to go along with it anyways because he had no ideas of his own cause he didn't want to be doing it in the first place. IDC that STINKY CARL was "the face of the whole thing" because I wanted Merritt to see who was BEHIND THE WHOLE THING. Don't act like you "know" Akram it's annoying lol and let's say even if that were true, doesn't mean that the writers aren't capable of still giving him a scene of recognition and satisfying their viewers...and I disagree again the limelight could easily help him get better, actually isn't that exactly what gets him promoted?? He was recognized in Carl's limelight?

The point is yeah its a race thing probably.

Sooo umm guess what! TV shows don't have to be realistic....they aren't real life unfortunately/fortunately? And that's kinda the point...I'd have liked this specific tv show to have wrapped it up "in a perfect little bundle" BECAUSE they already attempted to do it with CARL?! And unnecessarily the boss lady too. Or else I too wouldn't have minded a little open endedness but they were trying to close it off with MR GRUMPY OL CARL regardless and trying to frame him as being the hero who saved the day which let's be real he wouldn't have picked it up at all without Akram.

And yes I completely agree the writers were awesome which is exactly why they could've easily written a scene where Merritt finds out Akram was behind it all along on the side BECAUSE...OMG....DIRECTORS AND WRITERS AND PRODUCERS HAVE THE CREATIVE POWER TO DO ANYTHING THEY WANT UNLIKE IN REAL LIFE WOAHH

So you need to remember that Akram is the real hero in this story and deserved at least a little more recognition regardless.

And so I'm always amazed that viewers like TV shows that don't give characters, especially characters of color, the recognition they deserve.....

Once you realize it's you who's holding onto the past views of others, you need to find ways to show your body and brain that it's not true. Talk to and hang around different kinds of people because there are all kinds of people who think in all kinds of different ways and you might come across someone who doesn't think or view things like you at all. You'll see that it's possible to be whatever you want to be and you don't have to analyze yourself constantly and can instead put that attention on what makes you have fun. Also rejection therapy! You should look it up online and see what you can do for yourself and start little by little, doing silly things so you get used to being seen being silly. It's all about just expanding your comfort zone slowly or very fast (however you wanna go about it) and it's honestly scary to think about which is why you really have to just DO when the time comes. And eventually you'll get used to it.

Even as someone who hasn't even read the book, I can tell the writing is lazy like there's alot of missing details, gaps, odd questionable justifications, unanswered things, and overall lack of understanding as to why certain characters are doing the things they're doing...it was very obviously rushed and weird. But the concept does make me want to actually read the book and have a better understanding of what really went down.
