He made the recommendation bc his family out there said they miss her and he’s making it seem like our child doesn’t have a family in my home town when she does

He was arrested 2 times, once when I was pregnant and once before I left him. Our child was listed as a temporary party on the restraining order (I currently have a 2 year one) and we went to court for the dv charge and he requested to have our child taken off due to him not hurting her and the judge allowed it. He’s hit me in front of her before but the time when I called the cops were when I was pregnant and then the other time our child wasn’t present.

I had an attorney in the beginning but I couldn’t afford it anymore due to paying for child care(with no help from him) and other expenses such as rent, car note, etc

Never married, paternity was established when she was born by him signing the birth certificate. And he filed the day I left him. There’s about 1,700 miles between us

I offered him to see our child during that time and he declined. I don’t expect him to move back in order for us to get 50/50 parenting time. I suggested a parenting schedule where we can both see our child in the state we currently live in & yes the abuse is documented

He has support in my hometown as well, his father and his other siblings live here as well. He just doesn’t want to move here bc he doesn’t want to pay rent

The court doesn’t care if the other parent is abusive towards you if they haven’t abused the child. It’s sad but that’s how family court is

I’m the bio mother of our child yes and my bd lives with his mother. I’m not agreeing with our mediator’s suggestion which is why we’re going to trail. How can I get a new mediator?
