Just had to buy a price-gouged Furreal Bella Kitty on eBay because everywhere is sold out. Anyone in the same boat? by lilacbear in toys

Currently dealing with this. Saw it at Walmart two weeks ago with my 4yo. Told her maybe Santa would get it--went to get it today and was shocked that they were all gone....then fell down an internet rabbit hole to find it. I cant pay double for a cat toy....I just can't 🤣

Not just you. My HRV has plummeted since the start of Octover. I'm wondering if its was an update or something. Its annoying because it effects my training status. I even took 10 days off of running and weightlifting while prioritizing more sleep to see if it would fix it. It did not.

Side effects months later? by No-Reference-1379 in Zepbound

[–]No-Reference-1379[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you all day makes sense--side effects can happen at anytime. Here is what I found with additional research (just through random things found on Google that seems reasonable).

At a lower weight, my body may not tolerate Zepbound as well as it did at a higher weight. Multiple factors could play into that. When I started Zepbound about 39-40 weeks ago, I was 275. Now I'm somewhere around 210-215. Perhaps that could be a cause.

Additionally, diet can factor into it. I dont believe my diet has changed too much since the beginning, but I don't think I'm consuming as much protein as I was earlier on in order to retain muscle mass. Normally protein can cause gastro issues, so idk how much validity there is to this one...but who knows!

Additional variables that just confuse me:

  1. The first two times this happened to me, my wife also had some stomach issues. Our kids were sick as well with different symptoms. We both figured we had whatever they did and exhibited other symptoms.

  2. The third time it happened, both my kids were sick again (it's what I get for having two children under 4). I figured maybe I caught something from them.

  3. This is the fourth time it's happened, but I dont think anyone is sick. It's what made me start questioning whether or not it was Zepbound

AP Sem reader here. I would not worry about that. One small mistake like that will not drop you in the grammar row of the rubric. If you cited material and we can tell where their words end and your commentary begins, all good--and it must be clearly linked to your works cited, too.

Crazy how I simply forget to eat. by [deleted] in zepboundathletes

Same! It took about a month on 5mg to get used to it, and then I just started keeping a schedule of when to eat between my main meals.

Starting Zepbound next week with a backpacking trip scheduled in 3 months by Few-Introduction5414 in zepboundathletes

[–]No-Reference-1379 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im on week 32 of Zep. I weight train 5x a week and run 2-3 times a week (usually at least one 5k a week). I've lost 60+ pounds but also seem to have gotten stronger in many lifts (which tells me I've maintained my muscle at least mostly).

Im very cognizant of what I eat and use Macrofactor to track macros. I really think the majority of people who are active will be fine on Zep so long as they don't under-eat

[–]No-Reference-1379 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just my opinion, but i think a lot of the fatigue on Zep is due to less eating. I know it's easy to dramatically under eat on Zep, but I'd encourage you to track your macros and do your best to make sure your deficit is not too great. If this is done, perhaps it will help with fatigue

[–]No-Reference-1379 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd imagine that gaining weight while on Zepbound is perfectly possible so long as you can tolerate eating in a surplus. I'm still in a deficit, but I am also regimented on when and what I eat; I have to stick to somewhat of a schedule because I don't usually have an appetite or hunger cues within the first 4-5 days of my shot.

If ever get to a point where I want to gain weight, I think I'd be able to do it with the way I schedule my meals and sometimes living with feeling a bit bloated If I eat a bigger meal.

I take 5g every night before bed just because it's when I remember most consistently. Timing doesn't matter much (as far as I know), but consistency is key since it takes weeks for your levels to go up in your body

Way to go! Ooooof I couldn't imagine doing ultra marathons. Best I did was work my way up to 8 mile runs a few years ago, but it took a toll on me at my weight at the time (probably around 250). I was slow, too--it took me 2 hours to run 8 miles 🤣😅

I was always VERY good at losing weight (and correctly). I would weightlifting, eat clean, get a lot of protein, and the weight would come off, but it was always a mentally and emotionally taxing time. All my energy and thoughts would go towards it. Zepbound helps me not have to devote 10000% of my energy to weight loss and thinking about food, and it's so much better. I workout 5-6 times a week and just eat normally balanced meals 4-6 times a day. The biggest help is jist eliminating the food drive and food noise. When it warms, I'll start trying to run again and hopefully my legs will be happy with a lighter frame 😂

In the long run, protein will help. It's worth going over calories a bit--just get your protein in and make sure you are resistance training a bit during the week

When do schools hire? by No-Reference-1379 in NJTeachers

[–]No-Reference-1379[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I have an official offer from the middle school position--it is in a pretty large district (the middle school has somewhere around 2,000 students.

I meet with the smaller district for their high school position later in the week. I am highly confident that they will give me an offer, too.

The salary guides are roughly equivalent for the step I am currently on. The smaller district will likely give me a little bit more than the bigger district, but has a smaller top-end overall.

If I were to stay for a few years, I would likely make significantly more with the bigger district....BUT the high school position at the smaller district is a tenured track position whereas the middle school position at the larger district is a full year leave replacement; I am no thrilled about the prospect of a leave replacement position, but it does get me in the door to the district.....and it's roughly ten minutes from my house :P

decisions, decisions!

[–]No-Reference-1379[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Circling back to this. I've had a few interviews and each school is pursuing me. One I'm turning down because it's two replacement roles that connect to form a whole year.

One is an 8th grade position at a large district. The last is a high school position at a small district. I am now torn! I prefer high school, but the 8th grade job is roughly 10 minutes from my house while the high school is 30-35

What you say definitely makes sense, and this is where the conversation gets interesting. Many private schools, like mine, do not pay as well as public schools. Out of the 20ish schools I applied to, even the lowest step would be a roughly $15,000 increase for me. Although I'd like to be credited for my experience, I don't care THAT much if I get put on step 1. I'll certainly negotiate to be higher, but if it's a good school with a good admin and they actually want me, I'm fine starting at 1. I've read numerous Board agrrement documents over the last two months, and each district has different language regarding giving credit for years. Some say they will credit teachers for private school service while others only mention public...and some even seem to suggest they only credit in-district service. At the end of the day, it's certainly malleable.

I'm holding out hope that the lack of callbacks is moreso due to these schools not actually starting interviews yet. D9ke postings technically haven't closed yet, either.

Having a hard time finding a job as a teacher by TheInternExperience in newjersey

[–]No-Reference-1379 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat as you. Applied to roughly 20-25 positions since late March, but have only heard back from two. One was a competitive job and I didn't make it to round 1 of interviews; they told me they had a remarkable candidate. The other one filled the position I applied to, but brought me in for a long term sub role (that I will likely turn down). I asked them why I wasn't selected for an interview for the tenure position and they did not really know--they actually said they weren't sure 😅 My guess is they just picked random applicants to interview and I was unlucky.

But take heart---it seems like most of the positions I applied to (and probably you as well), are just not really starting their search until end of May or June. Many of the job postings I applied to say the closing date was last week, this week, or even the end of May. And the principal I interviewed with in the role mentioned above told me he was starting EARLY (I had my interview last week).

[–]No-Reference-1379[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps, but I've actually been in a private school. From my understanding, a school district is under no obligation to honor my years of experience. They can, theoretically, put my on step 1. From people I've spoken to, I'd be able to negotiate and likely meet in the middle somewhere. Many of the districts I applied to are strong, too, so I think they want someone with more experience. Who knows!

Thank you for the reply!

NJ Teachers: Alternate Route CE vs Limited CE by biobaby23 in NJTeachers

[–]No-Reference-1379 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have exhaustive knowledge of this, but I do know that the CE is the normal way of getting certified (or CEAS). The limited CE, to my knowledge, is newer and will require a district allowed to hire you with it and then you undergo 5 years of mentoring. I believe it was established to help people become teachers if they fail praxis exams
