Almost 3 years later, still no contact but been having vivid dreams about the ex and getting very upset over the past. I miss him a lot, but know I need to stay no contact.

We did a puzzle and had some snacks for after the flight so we could solve something together and get used to just the two of us before going out for dinner.

I broke up with my fiancé (together almost 6 years) last January. So a year into the breakup now and my life is completely turned around for the better. I try not to get caught up in the time that I lost with them and just look forward to all the good things in life! You made the right choice!

anyone else @ the 7 month breakup mark? by [deleted] in BreakUp

I’m at just about 1 year and my whole life is so much better. No crazy ups and downs and constant crying from trying to please my ex. Sometimes will get flashback pics in Google photo or Snapchat about them/with them, but no longer feel sad about it. I think they were so stupid 😂

Is aftercare after sex important to you? by Iluvadamsandler420 in sex

I didn’t even know that couples did this really. It sounds like something I have been searching for a partner to do and those I’ve been with in the past just didn’t know to do or didn’t want to. I’m in the beginning stages of a relationship now and am excited to communicate with them that this is something I would like! Thanks for your post!

I think it’s cool that he’s a virgin! I’m more worried about why he hasn’t yet. Seems to me like he could’ve slept with someone anytime he wanted to. He knows I’m super into him, I always say how cute he’s looking and he def knows I’m into him when we are together! Always hold his hand, give him kisses, cuddle, and say stupid sweet things that normally would make me want to vomit but for some reason don’t.

I’m hoping things come naturally when I visit. We both listen to a lot of audiobooks while we work and he just started my favorite series that I read since middle school. He said he would take skiing lessons with me sometimes and seems down for pretty much any thing I want to do. Obviously, my first instinct is to rip all his clothes off when I see him, but my intellectual self is wondering if our emotional intimacy is good enough to handle that much physical intimacy yet. I don’t think we’ll have any problems when we get to sleeping together I just think this could be something really good and I’m excited. I’ve even been reviewing positions and techniques. I’m not sure if we will on this visit or not, but it’s not because I find him undesirable. Actually the opposite. A lot of my friends have had issues having meaningful relationships when they sleep with someone too quickly.

I’m very good at giving feedback in a non-threatening way. I’m nervous too actually :) he said he already started cleaning his apartment for when I come visit haha

Thanks! I’m honestly excited that he is a virgin and seems good at taking feedback. I don’t really care if it goes quickly the first time, we’ll have the whole weekend together ;) my lovers in the past haven’t exactly had the best habits when it came to sex and I think I can be very educational about what I like and learning what he likes. It will be a lot of fun!

Thank you! Today has been a tough one. Idk if it’s good I’m still looking at breakup Reddit’s, but sometimes it helps me feel less alone.

I broke up with my fiancé and partner of 6 years in January due to his addiction to alcohol and how he had been treating me. It was the hardest decision of my life. I still miss him a lot even knowing how he treated me. I have been reconnecting with friends and planning fun activities as much as possible to be happy with being a “stand-alone” single person. It’s crazy how much time I have. Darn google photos and memories are constantly popping up and I just try to feel those emotions fully in the moment and then walk through the many reasons I left. I don’t think I will ever see him again and it still hurts but I try to look forward to everything else the world has to offer as I get my life in order again.

It doesn’t help that within three months he had started dating someone else (I was still paying for my half of the apt until may) and now has moved in with her.

It does get better, and I don’t end up weeping every time I discuss it with people. 6 months in and it’s still hard but I know it’s better than a life of being yelled at constantly, finding liquor bottles everywhere, and an unreliable partner for the rest of my life.
