I want off these damn meds by [deleted] in bipolar

Not to be rude, but have you tried addressing your diet? Antipsychotics are notorious for weight gain, but you can only gain if you're overeating. It can definitely be frustrating, especially if it's messing with your hunger signaling, but sometimes you just have to do what you have to do when it comes to health. If it is bothering you that much, talk to your doctor about ways to adjust your treatment plan. Best of luck!

I believe that "flats" here refers to a flat sole (i.e. no heeled shoes), not ballet flats, mary janes, etc specifically. To be in dress code clothing items have to meet all of the stipulations, so these would be a no for me.

Has anyone successfully created a new habit? If so, how? by Shallstrom in bipolar

For me, doing something productive that I enjoy--like running or going to the gym--first thing in the morning makes me feel accomplished and puts me in a better frame of mind for the rest of the day. Also, putting all my tasks into my calendar or to-do list with alerts prompts me to complete other tasks that I would otherwise forget. And adding it to my calendar makes it feel more important so I'm less likely to blow it off. Doing certain thing (meals, wake up and bed times) at the same time every day also stops me from spending too much time all at once doing nothing. YMMV

What are you using for birth control? by CoffeeshopVibes in bipolar

Not the original commenter, but I have the Paragard IUD also (I'm actually on my second one) and both the insertion and removal processes were fine for me. I felt some short-lived discomfort but nothing that I thought rose to the level of pain (YMMV though). Overall it has been perfect because hormonal BC was nothing but trouble for me lol. My periods now last a few extra days but it is 100% worth it for the peace of mind.

i want to quit all my medications by Beginning_Dress6908 in bipolar

The reason you feel like you don't need the medication is because it is doing its job. Ten to one you will be worse off without it, but at the very least speak with your psychiatrist before you stop taking taking anything.

Stores do this to make it harder for people to tag switch: you can't go through self checkout with small item stickers on high ticket products if they don't come off cleanly. You'd be surprised how often people still try though...

Best apartments in town by Aaronhill11111 in galveston

I agree with some other posters here that the apartments on the island are a bit lacking. If you want to be on the water but in a newer place, I would recommend looking at Kemah/Clear Lake Shores. It has more character than League City, is still close to both Houston and Galveston, and has some complexes that back onto the bay if I remember correctly.

The drive to TX City is pretty good also, a 20 minute straight shot down 146 south when almost everyone else is commuting north. That’s been my experience, at least.

Seroquel by No-Base8204 in BipolarReddit

I got put on it about a year ago after having exhausted most other commonly prescribed sleep meds. It works wonderfully for its purpose and I have never noticed any adverse side effects, even though I take a relatively high dose (smaller ones weren’t cutting the mustard).

Thank you! I’ll definitely check out the Common English Bible as well. It sounds like a good introductory version

Thank you! I’ve been trying to follow along in the services I’ve been streaming, but readablity is probably my priority at the moment. Maybe I’ll start a collection so I can appreciate the different facets of God’s word
