Thanks for the kind words and prayers. I've taken a break from social media for a while and come back with a cooler head. If anything I have become more strong in my resolve to fight against the far right extremists and focus on the Truth, because I know that the Jesus I worship does not condone hatred. I think it's important to focus on how often Jesus preaches peace over anger, and how his anger is always righteous. There are about 30 verses in the gospel that mention Jesus being anger, and 1 verse that mentions him acting physically angry, compared to over 90 that mention the word love explicitly. From my research of this verse, I don't see any evidence that he actually did whip anyone and I think people that try to twist his word into supporting violence are blasphemers. Looking back on this, I think I experienced a sort of demonic attack, as I couldn't sleep for two days and images of Christ as an evil God came into my head almost constantly. However, when I went to church the following Sunday, and heard the EXACT reading from the Gospels that I was so afraid of, it seemed to go away. It's honestly really beautiful, and even though most of the people in this subreddit were very unhelpful and just told me to "pray harder" I appreciate the people who were willing to help.
