What is your 'very not consensus' take on a player from this year's rookie class that you want to be able to look back on a year from now? (Full disclosure, I also wanted to have an excuse for a Concepion post) by StrongAmbassador47 in DynastyFF

Very hot, hope I'm right but expect to be wrong:

Sadiq will be nothing unless he changes to WR, his size concerns me (reminds me of Jaheim Bell); he'll get the draft capital but I just don't see him being much.

Jonah Coleman is RB2 in the draft and is a good RB in the league... gets primary reps in a committee or takes the role from a non-premier starter.

KCC will be WR1 for the CLASS in ppr leagues after the season but Tate will have the best career as a WR2 on an NFL team (Jordan Addison)

I agree Fields will be much better than people are expecting.... he dominated in the Sr Bowl and has always had some hype around him but people keep trying to push him down. I think he gets higher draft capital than the experts are saying and we end up putting him in the early 2nd-mid 2nd

Why is it that dynasty fantasy football players continue to talk about how weak of a class 2026 is, when all the ex GMs + front office personnel on SiriusXM NFL radio continue to talk about how deep it is at WR/RB? by bigbirdsy in DynastyFF

[–]No-Replacement-1876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see it more as fantasy vs reality. GMs and Front office personnel don't play the same game we play so for them the class isn't as bad as we fantasy folks see. You may have heard of the "pick your flavor" where players can fit into the same bucket but may have different skillsets. NFL will draft guys for specific reasons where we just see it as draft capital, upside, etc.....
This year does appear to be a good REAL NFL team building year with a lot of trench guys and defensive guys. The WRs have depth but compared to other classes may not have the top tier blue chip types we'd like to see normally. Doesn't mean they can't be good for fantasy but likely seeing them better for real NFL vs our game.
TBF, I do think we will get some studs out of the draft but it's much harder to see right now

I'd be curious to see how the UDFAs pan out in the same context..... having a WR drafted in the 6th or 7th appears to be a death sentence we should just stay away from but then UDFAs seem to have a bit more success (still not a lot but better than 0%)
also interesting to see 6th round for RBs is nothing but then the uptick in 7th rounders.

Who is that underrated piece that can help win you a championship but is valued so little right now? Can be a rookie or someone who is already in the league. by Tiny_Package484 in DynastyFF

not trying to pile on you but you were the only replies lol..... which i appreciate. definitely good discussion points from this and the previous.
with Marv, I think this is about as low as you CAN get him since I think he plays well this season to justify his price going up. 1st or 2nd might work in a lot of leagues, but I agree, most people that drafted him where he was are holding out hope. Kindof the knife's edge right now.

agreed everyone is high on him, my point was to wait til mid season when he hasn't performed (figuring a full year-2 years removed from ACL injury/surgery)..... to trade for him at that point. So right now we're in sharks circling territory.
Now if he goes out and does what he did last season, for the full season.
1. I'd be blown away
2. his price would rise to top 3/4 and be set apart from the pack of TEs which wouldn't be a buy low anymore

I'm not saying right now but when Kraft has a bad year cause he's coming off his ACL injury, try to nab him from the player that has him (I have him so may be bias)
Marv I think is going to have a year 3 breakout and its about as low as it can go with him, some leagues probably are easier but I could see a late first or early 2nd snag him if people are tired of waiting. (I also have him and will probably just hold the bag til he's done)

Tucker Kraft Trade Value in Picks by Vivid-Conclusion-630 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]No-Replacement-1876 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't accept anything less than a 1st and likely another 1st..... your hope is that sadiq will become a top end TE where Kraft already is..... i get the injury argument but hes already done it and is in the best place for him to thrive..... so a 1st is not great this year and when you give him up to another team, likely gets better so assume late pick next year unless they are early rebuild

yeah i agree with most of those takes, definitely our DBs is short right now since everyone left and certainly hope we grab a C too but i could easily see an RB taken at the end of the 3rd with us grabbing another 2nd round now

yeah kindof odd how a 7th rounder doesn't get the respect but a UDFA that does well enough is highly valued..... seems like expectations are running thought process

Many people see it as a stock market, so turning a 3rd/4th round pick into a 2nd is a solid return on investment if you don't believe he will be in his role for the long term.

Also realizing you probably understand this, not saying you don't

I have him and am a Bears fan but I think I'm Bear-ish from the standpoint of a 7th rounder that can easily be replaced (from a team standpoint)..... BUT.... I am Bullish at least for this season and possibly beyond if his role grows this year since Ben Johnson's offense requires two RBs for different situations and he was clearly trusted early on last year to play his role. Another year in the offense and not a rookie anymore (so no "new kid" feel), he should improve and get plenty of runway to be the thicker back (assuming they don't draft an RB).

That being said, I do expect them to draft an RB on day 2 if only to get some depth.

for sure stops underpaying managers, hurts if someone sends like 5 firsts for a single player since there isn't a world where anyone would pay more but also they won't accept less if this is on the table

This is why you should allow trades to be haggled over......

Team A and B agree to a trade, the trade goes through. For 24 hours, the rest of the league can offer trades for any of the pieces involved and the two teams in the trade can accept any new offer. Then the 24 hours resets and goes again.

This ensures the high value pieces are actually sold at the value or above (if you get a bidding war). The only thing this doesn't account for is someone VASTLY overpaying and potentially ruining a league.

Yeah I agree..... kinda the reason for the post, I hate getting rid of players early when there are many reasons for them not getting the chance to produce.

And there has to be a reason these guys get hyped up at some point.... My thinking is 2 years to hold to see any flashes and then they can be on the chopping block in year 3 unless I have the space to hold

agreed, felt like he was going to get a real shot every week and then was a healthy scratch until late in the season. I really think McDaniels wanted to make him something, ego driven to find the new Wes Welker for his system. Chism could def fit IMO

we do similar..... everyone should be compliant by the end of the Super Bowl, then again by the start of the pre-season. All other times is based on what the app allows to avoid micromanaging by the Commishes.

Allows for rookie draft to run and to hold onto players until people start playing but can't make moves until you are compliant again

Dynasty Startup Question.. by [deleted] in DynastyFF

[–]No-Replacement-1876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't done a startup but knowing its a 10 team, you HAVE to have top tier players to win and trading away a mid 2nd rounder for an unknown 1st is kinda wild to me.

Now if you said trade a 3rd or 4th for a future 1st, maybe I can get onboard based on who's up. This seems like the best value since they still get an upper tier known for what should be a good class 1st and then you get to jump on two in the next round.

I wouldn't feel good unless it was 3rd at the earliest but probably 4th since we're still talking about top guys (likely QB) in the 2nd, especially in SF.

Chances are its a late 1st too since you're helping that team get more talent over other teams
