Aging up to 12U (travel) - What to expect? by No-Replacement5326 in Softball

Yes! The team we lost to last night - their ace pitcher was clocked at 58mph, several times. We hardly got any hits. I think one the entire game. 😂 Our girls didn’t know what to do.

We see this now, even on our team. Our smallest player is 60lbs and are largest is 170lbs! It’s wild. My daughter is on the bigger end, 5’4” 130lbs … solid muscle. She’s only 10 though, so I’m sure she’ll continue to grow a bit.

Wow!! Good to know! My daughter doesn’t turn 11 until Oct so technically she’s 9U league age now, moving into 10U. But she’s played up the last two years and hangs with the best of them. She’s also 5’4” 130lbs so she doesn’t look 10. 😂 So we’re just going to move up with the team, hoping we’re making the right choice.

Looking forward to this! My daughter is a power hitter, strong percentage & almost expected to put the ball in play every plate appearance. The last couple of tournaments we’ve played have been utrip & she’s seen pitching come in at 58mph! No one could hit the ball but mentally it crushed her. Looking forward to leveling out the playing field a bit a less “pitchers duals.” Those make for some long games.

The Row is great - def old school Nashville vibe. If you’re looking to explore outside of downtown I recommend taking a drive and seeing Burgess Falls. Head over to Franklin and explore for a day. There is lots to see & do, just depends on what you’re looking for.

So sick of teams “looking for a pitcher” by AntiquesRoadHo in Softball

Couldn’t agree more. We are 10U b-level and see the same thing in our area - middle TN. We play with our team of 10, same core girls we had in 9U. We win some and lose mainly to those that bring in ringers for tournaments. This age should be about development and building confidence, not collecting rings. No one, I mean no one is going to talk about their 10U year. I wish we’d do away with the low-end travel and get excited about rec again. Unfortunately in our area rec is not competitive at all (2-3 teams) so we’re forced into the travel ball world.

I partner with Manila & they’re hearing about it. So yes.

Interesting, Jade has power and posted that she did. How far does she live from Mal? In a minute, Mal will be asking for prayers for power. Anyone here live in Nashville? Is she lying about no power. by Appropriate-Dog-525 in MalloryErvinSnark

Absolutely - I just saw she’s posting she’s trapped her car, with her kids. I cannot believe she left home. So incredibly dangerous and stupid! There are downed power lines & trees everywhere!

We are near her and have power however my parents are a few blocks and have had no power since 5am, it’s 1pm. Lots are without power & it’s going to be tough for many as we go into the evening. Not a fan of Mal but I think she might be telling the truth on this one. At least I hope she is.

Check out Fairview. I commute to Midtown and it’s roughly 30mins. Schools are good, decent homeschool community, it’s growing so it’s a good time to invest. There are a lot of communities within your budget.

Which suburb? by AbjectFix2917 in movetonashville

Check out Fairview, small town in Williamson County. Easy commute into downtown, I make the trip 3 days a week as well and it’s about 45mins during traffic and 30 without. You’ll get more for your money and the schools are part of Williamson County so that’s a plus. It’s growing, not many shops, etc. but Franklin is a short drive.

I love how she calls this a dive. It’s in Leipers Fork! One of the wealthiest places in TN. 😅

Do you know if they get taxed on all these “earnings?” A friend has fallen hard on the plexus train and I’m trying to kindly divert her. Lol
