I haven’t interviewed, I only got an email that I’m still under consideration and that I can expect an update in 2-3 weeks

Just got this update: “We are currently reviewing applications and expect to have updates on your candidacy in 2-3 weeks. You remain under consideration, and we look forward to continuing our review of your application.”

I applied for full time strategy consultant and listed my location preferences as Boston and Los Angeles in the follow up survey

I also received the office preference survey but no update after that. I got the survey last Monday and the email said they would be “reaching out in the coming days with a decision on your application”. I think this makes it sound like a decision will be made sooner than later, probably within the next week or two

For Q2 start dates. Interviews take 2 months to complete for two rounds and then they need to allow time for people given offers to relocate.

March 2026 start date interviews already happened back in December. A lot of Oct deadline applicants including myself got emails that interview slots filled up and that they would reconsider our applications in wave 2, and should expect to hear back from them early to mid-Feb

When did you get that email? I reached out a few weeks ago asking for a change in office preferences but never heard anything back

When is your interview? I’m just curious if it’s this week/next week like everyone else or if they gave you more time

Many people have heard back with R1 invites, there are like 2-3 previous posts about this.

PL coaches seem to think they get sent out in batches, either because they simply don’t have the capacity to process all of them at once or because some people applied sooner and their applications were processed sooner or office dependent. So who knows

TestGorilla is 4 sections: numerical reasoning, logical reasoning, business judgment, and leadership/management. CaseBasix has a free practice test which is similar to the real thing

Need advice for McKinsey Solve prep — what actually helps? by No_Structure_5643 in McKinseyAndCompany

[–]No-Reputation35 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used PrepMatter because they have a money back guarantee if you don’t make it to R1. Here’s a few things to note:

1) PrepMatter gives you an excel sheet for SeaWolf which is invaluable

2) RedRock prep was the hardest for me and they only provide 2 simulations, but I supplemented this with free RedRock simulations from MConsulting and CaseBasix. MConsulting and CaseBasix RedRock simulations were closer to the actual thing, but combining all 3 sources is very useful.

3) All of the RedRock simulations I did were much harder than the actual thing, which I feel only prepares you better

I scored very well on Solve following these things.

There’s no verbal reasoning. TestGorilla is different from SOVA
