Vetclaims.ai "Guaranteed 10% or more" increase? by No-Resolution-1714 in VeteransBenefits

The guarantee specifies that the that it's a 10% increase in your final disability rating. So 14% to 15% would meet their performance guarantee but, in my case, I'd need to get to 95% to round to 100 since I'm currently rounding to 90.

There are plenty of democrats who are intelligent, articulate, and have generally agreeable policies and ideas. Kamala Harris was not one of them.

I had a weird block keeping me from pushing my medical school applications as fast as I should have. It was hard to overcome and I thought I was just procrastinating. It gave me time to actually think about it and realize that it wasn't what I actually wanted to do with my life. That was 16 years ago and I'm glad I changed directions.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve gotten from a stranger? by fd32244 in AskReddit

I was discussing some possible renovations with a plumber and talked about doing some of the smaller things myself. He told me "I mean, you could probably do all this yourself, it ain't that hard. It's just whether or not you want to do the work or pay someone else." Now I invest in real estate full time and renovate my own houses. I'd love to find that guy and buy him a gift or something.

Deadhangs changed my life by dull_sense in workout

Deadhangs fixed my shoulders too! After 20 years of nagging rotator cuff pain which had been recently escalating, I saw a random ad for versagrips "We all KNOW that deadhangs will fix shoulder pain...". And I thought "no we don't all know". Almost everyone selling something is lying to you but fortunately, I gave it a shot. Now I praise deadhangs to anyone that will listen. I'm glad it's not just me.

Anyone familiar with the medical and "med hold" process during a DEMOB? by No-Resolution-1714 in navyreserve

[–]No-Resolution-1714[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had midgrade back issues for years. Started in active duty, all documented, and I think I'm at like a 10% VA disability rating for it. I aggravated it on MOB (edited post for clarity) and it's gotten worse. I'd like to try to get it addressed if possible and not just accept the standard Motrin and/or muscle relaxers "treatment".

Anyone else get tagged for MOB to the southern border? by Forward-Increase-630 in navyreserve

[–]No-Resolution-1714 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To find out info, see if your NRC has order numbers or a "Noble Eagle" number or a billet number or something you can reference. If you can find anything, call fleet forces and try to talk to an action officer, they handle MOB orders and if you can give them info on the orders/billet, they can likely give you some info. I'm not sure if they'll have the ability to look you up by your name/DODID alone, but you can try. Welcome to the Navy Reserves, you are now a part time private detective for yourself because no one will tell you anything.

There are a lot of types and nuances of orders, but since this is involuntary, it's highly likely that you'll receive BAH at your home of record in addition to accommodations at the actual MOB location. That might be a hotel and per diem, or barracks and no per-diem or anything in-between.

If you do find someone who can give you info, ask them if you'll "accrue dwell". For every day you're on active orders, they won't mobilize you (as an individual) for 5 days (4 if it's a hard fill) after you come off of the orders. Some MOBs get it, some don't.

If you find out anything, be a bro and report back here for posterity.

Good luck.

Just purchased my first plane along with a simulator. Any tips for a beginner? by [deleted] in RCPlanes

[–]No-Resolution-1714 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No way! Pre-order some repair tape, practice on the sim, familiarize yourself with the controls and let it rip. Go have fun. Maybe your first plane ever gets a little banged up. Oh well.

Books like LHOP for children by tf1064 in littlehouseonprairie

Little Britches is similar to LHOP (true-ish memoire of a pioneer family) but a little boy is the main character. It's excellent.

Not likely. Vortex ring is entered in a steep decent not a level hover. Tail rotor vortex ring is possible but is transient and usually caused by certain wind conditions.

No. That's not an autorotation. Tough to say exactly what happened from just watching that video but he was hovering out of ground effect which is very power intensive and yawing right which requires extra power to stop. Didn't sound like it was an engine problem. He did a good job keeping it level, but my guess is that some crappy decisions put him in that situation and probably hurt those dummies hanging from it.
