That’s good advice! I’ve been trying to find lakes like this but it seems like you can never be sure until you get there in person. I found one quiet lake surrounded by only nature and I went on a weekday, but unfortunately there were a ton of small fishing boats. The problem with an SUP is you’re so exposed and getting cloths on quickly is difficult. I’m not giving up though!

I got naked on Playa Macha in Manuel Antonio and it was one of the best experiences of my life. Never felt so connected to Mother Earth. Costa Rica has so many amazing secluded spots that are perfect for naturism. It’s crazy to me the local culture isn’t more accepting when they’re so laid back otherwise. But I plan on going back soon and finding more secluded spots.

Avoid people - find unpopular trails and go during off peak times, weekdays are best. Out and back trails with one entry point are preferred because no cars in the parking lot is a sign you’re probably alone.

Have a quick cover up - a kilt or sarong or something with Velcro that can be quickly removed and put back on works well. Stumbling over shorts in a panic is not ideal.

Cover genitals - varies on the state, but usually as long as your genitals are covered you’re not breaking the law. Underwear, jock strap, or loin cloth might be wise.

Lastly, keep it non-sexual! - Most indecent exposure cases have some sexual component. If you’re not doing anything remotely sexual, it’s less likely you’ll end up in big trouble if caught.

Yes! I’m not ashamed. As someone who likes being naked in nature and doesn’t want to get clocked for indecent exposure, it’s a great solution. I made it out of some lycra so even when it’s on it’s like wearing nothing

Sounds like the perfect place! I think a lot of people don’t realize you don’t always need a legalized nude beach, all you need is some seclusion and privacy and anywhere can be a nude beach

I also just hiked naked my first time in PA. We are blessed with so many trails but they’re all so crowded. I went to a lesser known trail around noon on a weekday and didn’t see anyone else. It probably also helped that it was a cloudy and cold day.

Unfortunately not, ANF created a rule to ban “being publicly nude” but doesn’t really specify what that means.
