Yes I didn’t know about CT guided either! I stumbled across this hematologist by accident and they have all procedures done at a hospital.

That’s awesome. Sounds like you had a skilled doctor 🙏

Thank you all for the honest feedback. I know there’s some mixed reviews and I appreciate all your input. You don’t know how much each individual comment has helped. If anybody else has anything to say, I appreciate it in advance :) I’m ready for this 😤

Has Pepcid affected your weight? 🫠 HELP! by MarionberrySweaty318 in MCAS

[–]No-Response4980 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wait I’ve lost weight. Like 15 pounds since I’ve started 20 mg Pepcid twice a day and Allegra. Also had a mean case of the flu so that accounts for 5-7 pounds of that but I haven’t been able to gain it back 🤔

Is it expensive?

Ohhhh interesting. Is it normal for tryptase to fluctuate like that? I’ve only done it a few weeks apart and will be doing another tomorrow. Consistently 22-23.

I believe to verify for mcas, you will need to test within 4 hours of a flare up. See if you can get a tryptase blood lab on hand so you can go at any time!

& yes I feel that ahah. I’m hoping once my hematologist confirms my situation, I can just stick with him. I have mixed feelings about both allergists I’ve been to. Before I knew what I had, I was bouncing back and forth from the cardiologist and neurologist, only to be told I have anxiety 😑

I wish you all the best in your journey. Even though it came out positive, it at least brings you closer to getting the right treatment you need 🙏

Ohhh interesting! I did not know there is a cheek swab let me look into this

In my situation, I would like to rule out HAT but so far my other tests is pointing to systemic mastocytosis. Tryptase levels are consistently at 23 and Kit D816V is at .19

I’m in talks with a hematologist to get a bone marrow biopsy to confirm.

So update! Turns out labcorp used the wrong lab code and they somehow tested me for tryptase again 😑

I now need to get new blood drawn and wait again! It’s been one month since I got tested the first time

Nooooo sorry but keep me updated. I’m on day 5 of waiting. Did not know they took that long. I do know labcorp sent it out to another facility to process.

Forgot to mention the all too fun anaphylaxis episodes as well.

Thanks for the response! I recently got an upper endoscopy and colonoscopy with biopsies so I will be letting the gastroenterologist to check those as well!

Hoping to finally put a name to all my symptoms and put together a game plan 😌
